Our GE 25GT240 TV sound is fuzzy. We removed the speaker and it appeared to be in fine condition.Is there any other component that would affect the TV sound. Do you know of any place we could purchase the part ourselves.
I would swap left & right speaker to verify its the speaker. if problem moves to other side speaker is bad. if only one speaker you must put external source to verify that voice coil is not bad.

The epprom chip is most likely the problem, the tuner shield will need to be resolded to the main circuit board because over time it developes hairline cracks causing the epprom to fail in a variety of ways. The chip needs to be replaced and programed along with tuner shield repair, I don't think there is a board option replacement.
Is it like its vertical is folding over to the center of your screen? If this is it, vertical IC is loosing its connection to its board. Better to resolder it, or some component is going faulty within vertical circuit or the IC itself.
the problem of your tv is lose connection, if you know how to used soldering iron, solder your tv specially in vertical section. and check also the supply of heater.
check for the connections! unplug and plug then back! test it! if it still have the same problem then it might be at the circuitry already! maybe some electronic components were busted or malfunctioned already! if you happen to open it! check for bulged capacitors or loose connected components on the circuity!
I think its the flyback and its starting to leak. this is a component responsible for the high voltage of your tv set. always observe safety in dealing with this. Have it check by a qualified technician. Good luck!
