Cant change screen resoloution

right click on desktop and in box there click 'change resoloution', and when it shows the resoloutions to choose, change it just one step higher than current one

are you saying that you cant see the desktop icons on your tv? maybe you need to adjust the resoloution on the computer screen to fit the the resoloution/size on your tv. try lowering the resoloution of your computer

go into the system menu and there should be a clock setting you cant usually get rid of it but you can set it to be smaller usually its big time and small or normal time.

First try shutting system down, unplug tower for 1 minute and restart. Give it time to come up and if that doesn't work, shut it down again and try to start in "safe mode" do you get any screen at all? If you can start in safe mode try going to "control panel'", "device manager" then "personaliztion", and adjust your resolution. If you can't adjust your resolution in safe mode do a "system restore" back to when monitor worked.

Hi, this sound like you have a (Resolution) problem. First; (right) click on an empty area of your Desktop Screen, next click Personalize; click Display Settings from here you can adjust the resolution of your screen. I'm assuming that you mean the scanned image is to big to fit the screen, and not that the document you are scanning is too big to fit in the scanner...

Try reducing the resoloution of the scan, this will redce the size of the scanned image.

EG: at the moment your probably scanning at 1200 dpi, when 300 dpi might suit the application better.

using you external monitor go to display settings , select monitor tab, open it , select monitor #1,reset to defaltor smaller resoloution

I have only heard of this once before and it was the bios for the monitor was not storing the settings for the screen resoloutions.
When you first run an LCD it sets all of this and stores the refresh rates etc in the LCD's bios. If that begins to fail, then it can not remember being used at that resoloution and will ask you to set it up as it would in the factory.

You would need to get the exact same bios chip for your monitor from DELL (good luck)

Right click on the desktop anywhere there is clear space.
Select Display properties and then select the last tab at the top of the window that pops up.
You should see the slider there to set the resoloution, and to the right is the colour depth.
