IF IT HAS ONE ITS LOCATED ON THE LARGE TUBE BETWEEN THE AIR FILTER AND THE THROTTLE BODY. IT WILL HAVEA WIRE HARNESS GOING TO IT.

SOURCE: Cam Shaft Sensor Problems

Had the same problem before on my 04 Neon SXT...camshaft sensor is on left side of engine block, take out the battery and to the left of it (face car) is the camshaft position sensor. To change it you'll have to move a few hoses but its plan to see there on the left side of the engine...pretty easy remove and replace. Fixed my problem of car not going above 2k RPM when i replaced the sensor.

Your vehicle dose not have a maf sensor. They used a map sensor it is on the engine located under the front of the breater where it attaches to the engine.

2000 Dodge Neon shudders, dies when at stop die then shakes to when taking off.

Clean Throttle Body and MAF (mass air flow sensor). Classic symptoms of bad idle. The throttle body isn't shutting properly and letting air in. At highway speed it is fine because the throttle is purposely open.

Cant find the 2 wires that lead to MAF/IAT int plymouth neon 2000

The neon does not have a MAF sensor. The intake air temp sensor is located in the air snorkel between the throttle body and the air filter.

2003 neon code p 0068

Hi there:

P0068 - MAF/MAP Sensor throttle correlation

I suggest to check the snorkel going to the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. Check for rips, cracks or if a tube has fallen off.

Hope helps.

2005 dodge neon, it has been jerking lately whenever i push the accelerator or the car has to go up a hill, or when im parked or stopped at a red light, has roughly 107,000miles on it

Hello,
Here are 3 very common causes for the isuues you're having.

1. Dirty air filter.
2. Faulty MAF, ( mass air flow ), sensor.
3. Faulty oxygen sensor.

These 3 things prevent the on board computer from determining the proper fuel/air mix ratio, and leads to symtoms like, poor acceleration, poor MPG, loss of power, fack stalling, and stalling.

I hope this helps you.

I have a 2005 dodge neon sxt. check engine light is on. I believe it is the mass air sensor. where is it located and how do I replace it.

These are high dollar parts. The first thing I would do is look for vacuum leaks. Then I would remove the sensor and clean it with break clean, this doesn't leave a residue. the mass air flow sensor is between the air filter housing and the engine. it it a fairly large sensor. When you clean it don't use a brush on it. Just spray the inside of it both ways at the part that sticks down. I have not replaced a MAF sensor. Everytime the code comes up it is a vacuum leak or the sensor is just contaminated. But they are an electrical part and I know they can go bad. Try this first a $10.00 fix compared to $200.00

What is code

P1684 simply means the battery was disconnected within the last 50 key starts.

A code P0171 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry. There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor. Solutions include In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner.. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary Check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure.
