Hoover sweeper model U4263-930 belt change

Either the belt broke or has fallen off the motorized pulley.

You have to remove the roller to get to the belt' look at the face and bottom to find the screws that hold the plate that covers the roller. Take the plate off and look @ the roller, to see where the belt runs. then take the roller out, you should be able to see the pin shaft that comes from the motor,the belt goes around it and over the roller.Be patient putting it all back together,and don't over tighten the screws, they strip easily, Good luck!

Remove the screws from the bottom of the power nozzle so you can remove the cover to gain access to the belt. Remove the brush roll, pull the end caps off the brush roll if possible to clean out hair and debris. Make sure brush roll will spin freely. Install new belt and reassemble.

take off the belt . clean any hair from brush roller make sure movement smooth . re position belt and move by hand to make sure roller is not skew , , rubber is riding sideways and causing friction .

get a fillipshead screwdriver, put the vacuum facing you so the brush is infront of you, you will see 4 screws on each corner.unscrew those and when you do there will be a space where you will see a shaft that points out. take the old belt off and put one part of the new belt on the shaft and the other part on the brush near the belt. (there will be a little brown part on the brush for the belt to lay on) make sure its secure and screw the screws back and your ready to go !

I found out that the Royal Mfg. Co. used the same schematic from this model to make newer models which had a belt, however, this older model that I have does not have a belt drive.

real simple you have to articulate the belt a little sideways and the belt should slide right between the pulley and the plastic.

on the bottom there should be a few screws take them out and a cover should come off the belt is right there. hope this helps
