Kodak esp3 cartridge refilling

This is a chipped cartridge (2 contacts) and simply refilling does not work, with a refilled cartidge the red empty light still illuminates and prevents any further printing.

How does the printer check the ink levels and decide if the cartridge is empty or full and how can this be over ridden??

Yes, I'm trying to find the same answer. These carts are so very easy to add ink to, but then they still won't print. Epson carts have a chip, and I know someone has made a chip resetter for those, but have yet to find any for Kodak. Someone PLEASE HELP!

Try unpluging your printer for a few minutes, turning it back on and printing a test page. This worked for me.

I contacted Oddparts.com an excellent resource for refilling and resetting equipment for ink cartridges and they can not find something to reset them with either. People we need to find a solution for this! I refilled the cartridge before it was empty and i do know that the oddparts ink WJ - 1010 will work in them... but of course, the ink reset issue..... I will keep trying or blast! i will return the junk!

All you
need is an exacto blade. All you have to do is locate the connector where the chip connects to the printer. ^There will be two metal connectors. In between
those connetors there is a black line.
Separate the line with the exacto blade
so it looks like two dashes instead of one continuous line. Be sure not to damage either metal plate and thats it. Try installing the cartrige and turning
your printer on again. It worked for me. kodak esp3 cartridge refilling - answer-button.gif

Are you talking about INSIDE the printer or the ink cartridges themselves?

Kodak ESP3 printer does not recognize new printer cartridge

This model printer may only let you use genuine printer cartridges. If you try to refill these ink cartridges it will not work because the cartridges have an embedded chip in the cartridge that detects the empty cartridge even though it has been refilled.

Ive refilled ink cartridge and put it back in printer but the printer is still indicating empty cartridge and wont print. How do I reset the firmware on printer so it accepts cartridge as new?

Often times it is the chip in the cartidge that needs resetting - depending on the brand, there are various tools needed to reset - sometimes needing a new chip. Printer manufactures have gotten stingy with ink and want people to buy genuine new cartidges. The best advice I can give you is try to get to an ink refill shop and see if they can reset the chip in the cartridge.

I just had an ink cartidge refilled but printer still says that there is no in

Hello, unfortunately, most makers of modern printers incorporate a chip into the cartridges so that you cannot refill them....well, saying that, you CAN refill them but they won't work as the chip tells the printer it's empty. Some refill companies make a chip resetter that you can buy, but they will only work on certain makes, and apparently you can't reset original HP cartridges. Do a google search for your printer and include 'chip resetter' Regards, nicam49

I had been refilling my cartidgesand they worked well. Now, I refill my Cann bjc 250 cartidge, but the printer does not printp. I buy a new one. This cartidge worked well. Why the refilled cartidges do not...

when you refill a cartridge...they have a life spam...they do not last long...
because cartridge are manufacture to be use or refilled by 2 or 3 times...then if it reach the limit you have no choice other than to buy new one...

I have refilled the ink cartidges, nothing is printing. i have a solid red and solid green light--it still indicates that the ink is empty on one color, it won't run a test sheet or nozzle check. help! ...

there are devices used to reset these chips but if you are going to reset it manually it will be imposible to do so, manufaturers have an expiration date on this chips, that manufacturer always reminds us to buy a new fresh cartridges, these cartridges has limits on how many time you can refill in my experience i only refill it 2 to 3 times before i purchased a new set of cartridges to avoid any damages to the printer

Still getting message empty cartidge lexmark x2650

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

Need refill instructions for refilling the cartridges in the kodak esp3 printer

From what I know, these cartridges have a chip that renders them useless if ran completely empty, (or if the printer registers them completely empty), and they will not work if refilled.
I think the only way to actually pull this off is to try to refill while the cart. is still printing,(not completly empty), and then it should work. This is a difficult one to refill.

Ink Refill for HP Photosmart c7280 not working

Hi Lisa,

If it responds ok with the old cartridge then the problem is with the cartridges' chip not the printer. Probably the manufactor has a problem with certain cartridge chip (contact them!). I would suggest to use the original at the problematic spot if it works without a problem.

Printer doesn't reset after refil

I don't know what this "refill starter pack" contains but you HAVE TO change the chip of the cartridge otherwise the printer does not know that you changed/refilled the cartridge.
