If you get the same results on many discs the player may be on it's way out. You can try cleaning the lens with a cue tip and a drop of isopropyl alcohol. The next step would be to change the player if you can find one, If that's impossible you could get an MP3 conversion which will replace the entire mechanism with a hard drive or compact flash. The rest of the machine works the same.If you get the same results on many discs the player may be on it's way out. You can try cleaning the lens with a cue tip and a drop of isopropyl alcohol. Hi you put on service , then you enter 84 then you put the number of credit you want by example 9999 and you press popular and you put back to normal mode
most all "early models: Rowe CD 100 Laserstar's
Put the slide switch in service position. Go past the errors (if any) by pressing Popular and Reset simultaneously then enter "55" the display should say "free play off" then hold down the reset key and push 9. This will toggle between "off" and "on" Toggle until the display indicates free play "on", then release the reset key and press the popular button. Put the service switch back in to the play position, The display should say "FP" however not all models display it exactly the same. If your computer's battery is good this setting will be retained. If you have to load the factory defaults for any reason OR another problem (dead battery) is causing the factory defaults to be loaded when you power on, this free play setting will be reset to "off" after power is interrupted.
You will need to go into the programming section on the menu.
I suggest that if you do not have a manual that you obtain one from Rowe Ami, Victory Glass or distribution.
Have you initalised all of the CD's on your jukebox? Every time you replace a CD you have to initalise it.
The turntable motor on the jukebox range of R-84 to R-93 is none adjustable.
If you are in the USA then the motor operates on 60hz but in Europe it would have to be on 50hz to do this a different pulley is used.
The Rowe Ami part numbers are as followes:-
30791907 Turntable Motor Assembly 60hz
30791908 Turntable Motor Assembly 50hz
21817801 Motor Pulley 60hz
21817802 Motor Pulley 50hz
These can be ordered from a Rowe Ami dealer or you could try www.victoryglass.com
It sounds like the CD has to be initialized, so the jukebox knows how many songs are on the specific CD.
To initialize a CD, go into service mode, input code 31, then index the cd number (two digits), then hit "popular". return the jukebox to play mode.
The carousel should scan and load the CD you initialized, and then return it to it's slot.
It should now be able to play any song on the CD you select.
With regards to your problem with the Rowe Ami 100 cd jukebox.
Do you have a manual, if not I suggest you buy a printer manual or one on CD and refer to the Programming and Installation section.
In order for the jukebox to know about the cd's that are installed in the jukebox it has to initialize all or the changed cd's that have been replaced within the jukebox.
Put the jukebox into the Service Mode (the service mode should appear on the display)
Type 3 to select the Initialize sub menu
Type 0 and full initialize will appear on the display
Press Popular to start the initialization
Place the jukebox service switch into the normal mode
Initiazation will take around 30 minutes to complete.
