A display problem in my Acer desktop pc

I have Acer pc desktop (model Acerpower FV Aspire T 600) .previously it was infected by virus because of this reason I format it with its system CD .I remember my pc is working properly after the formatting process finished. Then I left it with out turning off the system to take some coffee with my friends. After 1 hr I returned to my pc, but my pc was turned off. I try to restart it. But it works only for 2 minutes then the system will switch off by itself. I was continuing restarting for two times. Finally the monitor stop displaying any video and the led (status indicator light) shows a red light. After that, I tried to solve the problem by changing the processor and RAM, nothing is happen. My monitor can’t display any thing. Please help me.

Thanks for ur help

It is possible that it over heated. You did not say what it was sitting on. You may need to change out the Hard Drive. What operating system is it? XP or Vista?

Try booting to safe mode by tapping the F8 key and see if it boots that way.

    Please let me know.\

    Thanks!

Try to remove and replace the ram. It sounds like either a problem with the ram and or the power supply.

Techguru 2009: First thing disconnect all power. Remove all drives (hard drive, CD/DVD, Floppy). Then remove all PCI cards. Also slowly remove the Memory cards. You should only have the motherboard w/processor and the power supply connected, do not connect the monitor or mouse\keyboard. If you have a CMOS battery also remove it. Careful turn the power on, you should hear several beeps. That is letting you know that there is no memory installed. Turn power off disconnect power cord. Slowly install the memory cards, keyboard, mouse, monitor. If you have a pci video card install it now. Turn power on. you should see the bios loading then error message there is no disk or operating syste. turn power off and start connecting one device at a time so your bios can recognize it. This should let you know if you have faulty hardwareby isolating each install. If you still have problems let me know.

I can't get acerpower fv sound driver from its cd after i format the desktop why?

Hello,

It all depends on which type of CD you are using to get the drivers from. The Acer FV recovery discs, are meant to run recovery only and not store any user accessible files. However, I can recall that one of these CD's is a CD with the name "Acer Power FV Resource CD" which should actually contain the driver for the sound.

Please use following link to download the sound driver: Acer Power FV Sound Driver direct download

At this stage I will assume your OS to be Windows XP SP3, your Audio driver will be Realtec High Definition Audio.

If you have used a Windows XP CD to format the desktop as you've said, you need other drivers as well not just sound. Let me know if you need more drivers and I will find the links for you.

Having to restart my PC twice before broadband

The over 30 minutes issue is probably the Windows Power Saving settings. The broadband issue is probably to do with IP addresses. Try setting the computer to a static IP address in the network settings. Right click on the network icon>status and make a note of the IP address. The click properties>TCP/IP settings and change it to static and put in the IP address.

AcerPower F1 desktop boots fine after about 10

More likely it's from overheating; if it would be from the power supply ithe shutdown would be more random.
But it could also be a malware infection - especially if it happens EXACTLY after the same amount of time . Check what processes are active just before shutdown .

I have a AcerPower FH P4 -- 100% CPU usage all the time prob...

Boot your PC into "Safe Mode" (tapping the F8 key on boot to get to the option) and run a full/complete Virus scan with Anti Virus with up to date virus definitions and see what that yields.
