I recieved your response on how to replace the battery on my Sony MP3 player but it is not the 6 GB unit. It is the 2 GB unit (the black one) model NWZ-S615F.Is the battery replacement procedure the same ?

You need to apart the unit to replace battery. This requires expertise and skills. If you are confident about then open the unit by unscrew at back of unit and release 6 claws across the cabinet.
Take care about flexible ribbon wires that can easily be broken.
Unscrew LCD panel and take out, then main board and at last you will see battery.
Replace battery and put back all things in reverse order.

Service Manual for the NW-A1000 available here find page 6 for the Lithium Ion battery exploded diagram and how to change it I think its a 3.7V sealed cell.

Yes.
You can change the batteries easily.
First, remove the screws at the backside, near the bottom.
Then flap open the front, starting from the top.
battery is glued to the back cover.
Remove the connector, remove the battery.
Stick new battery to the back cover, connect the connector.
Fit both the covers together. Power on the player.
If there is no problem, put back the screws.
thats it.

Probable cause. Computer Virus, Disk Space Error, Disk Space damage. Try to formatting it using the settings in your Walkman or in the computer you can format the disk of your Walkman. after you have it done, try to do your task and if it's still not working contact the service center ASAP.

Sony NWZS616F 4GB red Walkman MP3 player with

you have to go on youtube, type in "how to put a video on the nwzs615f" even though it is a different model, it should still work! Also, i would recommend going to download.com and getting xilisoft video converter ultimate. this way you can convert the whole video! good luck! please rate this answer please

My walkman won't charge

Your walkman may just be old, or defective. Try contacting them to see if they have a recall on it or if they can replace it. Otherwise the hardware may be fryed or just plain defective.
