Hello, I have a Systemax computer with a amd 64 + w/ hyper technology processor. When I first got this computer in 05 the motherboard went out [k8m800].They sent a tech to replace it.The replacement motherboard was a [k8vga-m s754 matx w/lan] It work great until I installed a new hard drive, now nothings working. It won't reconize the hard drive, It's the same hard drive [seagate 320 gb serial ata], but more gigs.I was told I have to reinstall the drivers for the motherboard [k8vga-m amdcpu ] I think I found the drivers for the motherboard. How do you install it.I can't install my windows XP pro. it keeps telling me I have no hard drive.
I had this problem on a computer recently. This particular motherboard may be needing the driver on the Windows XP SP2 disk. Your motherboard may have been made to use Microsoft SATA drivers. Othewise, there would have been a driver disk that came with the motherboard to let it see that SATA hard drive.
If it's a new hard drive, you have to reinstall the O/S so use a disk new enough to have SP2 included.

Thank You, I'll give it a go.and I'll post the results. The o/s cd that came with the system most not have the sp2 on it.
