How to turn off on board graphics card
get into the bios of your computer. (look it up on the internet if you don't know how) search around, there should be a setting in there for onboard graphics. most likely in a "devices" or "advanced devices". this is just off memory but keep searching and don't play around with other settings. ^^
Consecutive beeps last 10 seconds, silence for 5
how many beeps any breaks between beeps and then how many like 3 beeps then stops for 1 sec then beep beep beep stop beep beep beep check to make sure that your installing your memory sticks right and they are seated all the way make sure all cards are seated right all wires are not shorting out and a worst case your cpu is good
Windows setup does not see sata drive K8VGA-m
Good day sir, if your hard drive is bad it cannot be detected, but lets review first several reasons why it cannot be detected by your motherboard;
- check the master / slave setup, if youre hard drive is sata, this is not applicable.
- check your connection, both data and power cable, to and from the hard drive. (ribbon ide cable or red sata data cable)
- Still cannot be detected? try to reset your CMOS setup by using the cmos battery jumper. after reset, review the CMOS settings, and enable your IDE/SATA drives. test again.
- Stiil doesn't work? bring it to a friend who has a PC and try to test your hard drive to any available good PC, to check if your drive is bad.
If your hard drive is good, chances are your motherboard IDE/SATA part is bad, you may need to buy a PCI to SATA/IDE card. connect this card to any available PCI slot, connect your hard drive. hope this helps.
New hard drive not reconized, motherboard drivers
I had this problem on a computer recently. This particular motherboard may be needing the driver on the Windows XP SP2 disk. Your motherboard may have been made to use Microsoft SATA drivers. Othewise, there would have been a driver disk that came with the motherboard to let it see that SATA hard drive.
If it's a new hard drive, you have to reinstall the O/S so use a disk new enough to have SP2 included.
Problem with DDR
If the memory is good (test it on another comp. ) it may be possible that the motherboard does not support that type of memory (happens !! ), or it supports that quantity of memory only on one slot . U must get the motherboard;s manual and read there if they are any particularities..... (sometimes , very rarely, there are BIOS settings ...that may interfere ... )
Long Beeps every other second
Ok, I did some research into your board. Your motherboard is running an award bios.
All motherboards use beep codes to tell you what is wrong. You've got a hardware problem somewhere for sure, but where is the question. If you're having 1 long beep, with the same timing and frequency over and over then according to the codes you most likely have a memory problem. Try resetting the motherboard by resetting the cmos ( you can also do this by removing the power from the computer and taking the little clock battery off of the motherboard for about a minute).
Also, make sure your ram is tightly seated. In fact, take the ram out and then place it back in. Try running the computer with only one of the chips of ram installed (if you have more than 1 chip that is). Maybe one of the chips went bad.
Finally, here is a list of the award beep codes. If you are getting beeps that match one of these examples better than we can go from there.
1 Long, 2 Short - Video adapter failure
Repeating (Endless loop)- Memory error
1 Long, 3 Short - Video adapter failure
High freq. beeps (while running) - CPU is overheating
Repeating High, Low beeps- CPU failure
