my logitech 5.1 speakers were working fine until i had to reformat my computer. Now, only the fromt speaker and subwoofer are working (i.e. sound is only coming out from those two).
I would greatly appreciate it if some one could help me with this!

Hi, you need to check for problems with your sound driver. To do this go to start, control panal, system, then hardware and finally device manager. If there is a problem your audio device will be highlighted with a yellow ?. You will need to down load and install the latest sound driver for your system. If you are not sure which one; you can do a google search, or try the Realtek AC'97 sound driver, which is free to down load from a google search. Hope this helps.
It seems odd that your speakers would die after reformatting the driver. I would recommend trying to update the drivers for the sound device. It is possible that some sort of mixer software or enhanced features of the sound card are disabled. Also ensure that they are plugged into the green port on your sound device.
go to start menu, control panel, sound. Then here go into the Tabs and select the Speakers. Apply, Done !
If it does not work, then I suggest you to contact the Logitech support for a replacement this is an hardware
failure and it's covered by warranty terms.
Follow the procedure for speaker installation here. Verify it.
As this is a very basic output device, it uses the computer's Audio drivers to channel the sound from each speaker correctly. Make sure that your audio driver is installed and working. Other wise open another ticket and give us info on the sound card
