Depending on exact model (4311, 4314 or 4315) you can download the drivers from the following link:

Not all USB adapters are the same, you need the one that is made for your printer, I would try a different adapter before going too deep, because when you plug it in your computer should see it even without drivers.

The printer/scanner/copier will work with Windows Vista stated on:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00808543&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=57769&lang=en
You don't need the drivers, only for Windows 98SE to Windows XP, Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X, and Linux. Vista is 100% compatible with the HP PSC 750. Windows XP, same thing as Vista, but XP still needs the drivers to work, or not. SOURCE: Vista will not print to HP Laserjet 5p
I purchased a Dynex USB to Parallel Converter Cable from Best Buy and tried to connect but had no success. I then sent an email to Dynex customer service and received a reply in about 24 hours. The rep provided spot on instructions which I was able to follow to a tee. My 14 year old HP Laserjet 5P is now ready to run until it blows up.
I spent hours searching web forums and only received overcomplicated replies by people who think they are techies, none of which worked. I am 63 years old and not a techie, so if I can do it, anyone can. I have saved the email and will forward this straightforward simple fix to anyone who needs it. My net cost was $36.00 for the cable.
Please go through the following steps and I am sure that you wil be able to connect the printer.
1) Check the Printer USB Cable is connected to the PC's USB port.
2) Check that the Printer is in power ON state.
3) Go to this website and download the Printer driver for windows 7
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3692888
Here you will find a Select tab where it will ask for your OS. Select windos 7 32bit or 64 bit whichever is applicable and click Next.
Click on "Driver(2)" and then » HP Officejet Basic Print and Scan Driver and Click on the Download tab.
This will download the Printer driver for windows7 and after it gets downloaded install the driver by double clicking on the exe file.
Your printer will get installed. Now you will be able to take print.
