Futura software on winds vista

Wow. it seems i am not the only one with these isses. anyway, i just bought a new vista latop. needless to say i am having trouble getting the software to startup. i have followed the vista instructions from the futura-suppot site twice. the current issue i have is 1) windows wont let me changes the futura icon to "run program as an adminsitrator". this is under the compatibiliry tab. i have selected the run in winsXP mode as instructed. 2) when starting the program i get "Futura.QZ_ has stopped working" and windows wants to close the program. This is at the step after loading hyperfont. any suggestions other than trashing it?

    DId you make sure you were signed in as the administrator when installing the software? Try to reinstall it under the the administrator account.

Just bought this machine and installed the software. When I try to use I get a message: Can not run CF_Splash.dll

It sounds like you are trying to use the software on Windows 7 or Vista. There's a patch at www.Futura-support.com you'll need. On the lefthand side of the screen, click on downloads, then choose CE100/150/250/350, etc, etc. Follow the directions CAREFULLY. Be sure to install ALL Futura software you've already installed and reboot your PC BEFORE starting the new instructions.

If for some reason this still doesn't solve your problem, I've posted a solution that's a bit more involved on the CE100 Problems & Solutions home page for running your machine on Windows Vista/7. Basically, it allows you to run any XP program on Windows Vista or 7 using your old XP software. The Futura patch works for most people, though, so you will hopefully not have to go that route.

I have recently bought a new computer and i installed the software, but the machine will not recognise the computer, can it be installed on computer with the new windows 7 or do i need an update??

Yes, it can be installed on Windows 7. Check the Futura support sight at www.Futura-support.com and look on the right hand side under downloads. There's a download listed for CE150/250/350, etc, that applies to XP 32 & 64 bit, Vista and Windows 7 32 & 64 bit. Follow the directions CAREFULLY! If this doesn't work for you, I've posted a set of instructions under CE100 solutions for running the CE100 software on Windows Vista/7 by installing a Virtual Machine software on Windows 7 that works regardless of the situation.

The update should work for you perfectly, however. Just make sure you uninstall the Futura software and reboot your machine BEFORE you do anything else and follow the instructions from the website carefully! Good luck!

Can't find drivers with VISTA on new computer

if your new computer is 64 bit, you'll need to call singer 800 4 singer. I have yet to tackle this problem but i know it is coming

CANNOT FIND DRIVERS

I just bought a new Futura CE250 & had the same problem.

I fixed my "can not run an x86 build of this utility on x64 platform" by visiting the futura support website & downloading a service update. I have a computer with Windows 7 installed. There are also updates for Windows Vista & other operating systems as well.

The website is www.futura-support.com

When you are there, click on the link on the left for "Service Updates."

Vista unable to install Futura software

Vista is notorious for being flaky regarding embroidery software etc.....have you had advice from the Singer Dealer where you bought the machine ? Find your local dealer HERE

Singer USA Customer Support should have solutions for these things by now too and I recommend you hound them if they cannot easily suggest what to do. Vista is some years old now, not the first few weeks of release !

Wow, I finally get to have a solution.
1. Turn the machine off.
2. Remove the hoop.
3. CAREFULLY slide the bar on the embroidery unit to the left.
4. CAREFULLY slide the piece where the hoop attaches toward you.
5. Turn on the sewing machine. The machine should take the unit to "standby" with a click.
6. Attach the hoop with the power on.
7. Exit the Futura software.
8. Restart the software.
This "should" fix the problem, however, you may have to repeat this process more than once to get it to "stick".

In embroidery mode, you have to send a design to the machine before the bobbin winder will work.

check for your disk size!
try to check also for the software properties labeled on the CD especially its memory and disk allocation requirements!
it may also need you to connect the machine to the computer first before installing its software!

Vista unable to install Futura software

I found a solution that seemed to work for my setup (Vista-Futura 200): Go to the Futura support site www.futura-support.com . Choose "Service Updates" from the left-hand Menu. Choose "Quantum® FUTURA™ (CE-200) Owners running Windows XP Service Pack 2 operating system WITH one or more of the Options (AutoPunch, CrossStitch, PhotoStitch, and HyperFont) installed". Look for the bullet-point list in the explanations. It says there: "If you own the AutoPunch Option and you could not successfully install it, download the Service Update by clicking here." Select the highlighted link, download the patch and install it. Worked fine for me, I hope it helps you, too.
