The eMachines T2984 uses an Intel D845GVSR motherboard,

Just one example from a quick search.

The above is the motherboard manual -

IM connecting a OKIA LC-8460BTX POWER SUPPLY TO MY EMACHINES T2984. I cannt figure out where the wires are placed.

There should be a photo of the board and instruction on where the leads are fitted if you browse the manufacturers web site and input the model of the unit you are refitting.

I have found this site, which may be of use to you. Regards.

If it's a motherboard from an T2984 eMachines then it has only PCI, no PCI-E or AGP.

I have a emachines t2984 i press the power button and doesnt turn on i replaced the power supply with different ones and nothing and the light turns on (power button) but the when i press the button the...

Ok, test the power button pins. First disconnect any power source to the computer. Then, find the power pins on your motherboard (the one that your case's power button connects to. Usually two wires, one red and the other black). Grab a jumper a connect it to those two pins, they usually have the letters "pwr" or "power" printed next to them. Then, once you've done this, with the jumper connected, connect the power cord to your power supply. It should turn on by it self. If it does, then the problem is the power button. If it does not do it, then the problem is the motherboard. Good luck.

E-machine T2984 will not start

looks like the connections in your system are loose.

just do this remove all the connections hdd,dvd other pci card or graphic cards.any other extra things other than motherboards own. donot connect the hdd or dvd.
then take out the ram and the battery on the motherboard. wait for a while then place the battery back and then insert the ram. place the smps connection to the motherboard and then power up the system.
you should now get the display and warnings that no bootable devices are found.

and check the bios settings after a successful display.
after that connect the devices one by one and check their detecting in the bios then you can keep all the extra cards.
this problem might be causing because of the bad CMOS checksum. just reset the bios through the jumper settings or remove the battery then the system will work fine

Will not turn on.

Did you try bypassing the switch?

To do so:
  1. Remove the case
  2. Follow the wire from the power switch to the motherboard
  3. Remove the wire from the 2 pins
  4. Use a screw driver and touch both pins at the same time, creating a connection
daa0c9e.jpg

That would be the equivalent of switching the computer on, if it powers on then you know the switch is bad and just need to replace it. If it does not turn on I would be 99% sure it is the motherboard as you already swapped the power supply.

Power supply sounds fine. If the pc won't power up it could be your motherboard. If the pc is powering up and you get a 'no signal' on your monitor it could be your gpu.
