Remote sensor not working

My remote has suddenly stoped working for my Sony KV-27S42 27" TV. The remote control still works fine. I know this because I put fresh batteries in and it also still works the DVD system that is connected to the TV. SO apparently it is the sensor on the TV that is malfunctioning. Anybody with any suggestion on how to fix or replace the sensor would be much appreciated.

My television no longer accepts commands from the remote control. I have verified that the remote control works properly. Please advise.

Since remote control is verified so next thing involved in remote operation is remote sensor located on front of tv that receives remote signals.
Remote sensor seems defective in your tv and need to be replaced to solve remote issue.
Call local tv repairman if you have no experience of soldering parts in circuit board.
Thanks.

My remote worked fine, but suddenly won't work at all. TV is older Sony Wega 24" Trinitron (KV-24FS100). The satellite remote will change the channels, cause it's using the box, but it won't control...

Could be the IR receiver in the TV.
Make sure nothing is in front of the TV that would block the IR from receiving commands from the remote, I've seen customers put VHS tapes on the front of their TV that caused the remote to not to work.

Good luck

Sony Kv-32fx68u not recognising remote commands

Sounds like the remote sensor inside the TV is faulty. Anyway, Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

Remote doesn't work

Possibly some of the dry wall dust could have gotten into the buttons on your remote. You can check the remote by holding it close to an AM radio receiver and listening for popping sounds as each button on the remote is pushed. You may have to move the remote around to find a position where the radio will pick up the signals. (usually close to the antenna ) also you may have to tune you radio up and down the dial. With this method you can test each button on your remote! Hope this will help you! Stargazer
