Broken Coax Connection

I returned home to my parents and was posed with the following problem...I broke off the connection to the tv. I investigated and sure enough, when my father was loosening the coax cable, it was firmly attached to the tv and he simply snapped the cable inside the tv. I started taking the back panel apart to see if I could solder the piece back together. Unfortunately, that input has its own little world to deal with. My question is, since the entire input portion of the tv is removable, where can I find a replacement and how much does it cost? Anyone? Thanks. Steve

Solution will not work. The female coax is not attached to the inner workings of the tv. The only solution would be to rip apart the inside of the tv to solder the female coax to the inside of the tv.

I was moving the tv and the cable cord got stuck in the door and pulled the whole cable connection on the tv off. How or can this be fixed.

Looking for cable with analog on one end and coax on other end

Since you're going to be soldering anyway, these are available on ebay. Just keep your wire as short as reasonable.

The other way is just grab a short f-type to f-type coax (standard TV coax cable) , and cut off one end. Then unweave the shield and solder into a bundle with a short wire to the TV antenna ground.

The sound is just a high pitched buzz

Hi Bill, most issues such as this are due to inaccurate connections in the back, so be sure you don't have a video RCA connection going to the "audio in" jack.... or something similar.

Try investigating the sound while using "over the air" tv or through an old Coax cable\antenna connection.... If it works correctly from that source then you are probably OK...

Pulled plug (antenna connection) out from the back of the TV set it broke off tried to fix it and now lost the threaded male end can this be fixed & how much the dvd works great,ser#057340809675 upc#7...

You can buy the male coax threaded terminal at Radio Shack or Home Depot...some Walmarts carry it too. You can do it yourself, just follow the instructions on the package. You will have to strip the plastic shiething off the cable a little with a knife.

Zeneth A25A11D 25' tv has broken cable connector

Sorry, I miss-read this post. I orginally thought it said your cable broke, meaning the coax that went to the back of the TV.
The coax input is more than likely a part of the main board. I am not a tv expert but as with laptops and input modules that break you have to soder the peice on or replace the whole board.
Easier to switch to a/v inputs as mentioned in Solution #1.
I could not find a spec sheet for your model but did find this for you to give you an idea on what is entailed in replacing a broken RF connection. This may or may not apply to your model, but here it is anyway.

I would suggest letting someone who is qualified in TV repair fix it.
Here are the service manuals for your Zenith. Download both and then extract to your desktop for easy access. I downloaded and extracted myself to make sure it was a working copy so you are good to go.

My TV is fine...problem happen when I was moving today, not sure what its called but its the silver projection located on the back of the TV is which you connect the cable on the wall too...it broke...

Hook the cable up to the VCR or if you don't buy a RF converter from radio shack or electronics store which will have a coax connector on it with component and Svideo to send to the TV. Select the connection (Component or Svideo) in the TV menu. If you only have the coax connector on the back of the TV without any other connection, you will need to get that tuner board replaced.

RCA 25GT511 - fuzzy picture slight static sound; wiggle coax rear mount temp resolve

There might be a bad (loose) connection in the RF isolator or the tuner (both are silver boxes. Try to unplug the coax and bend the RCA tabs in so that the connection gets firmly made when reconnected. This may help. If it does not The connector may have to be replaced.
