SOURCE: when I power on my viewsonic monitor it flickers

After 2 years, more likely the caps will be bad by now, worst case will be bad lamps, open it up and look inside for caps with bulging top first, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps/lamps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

You need to download the driver from DELL for your video card, my 3000 use video driver R79733.EXE.
You may have virus in your computer if you cannot update the drivers, sometime it is better to start from clean drive to help get rid of stuff that get installed into the computer.

In moving I lost my manual. How do I get a new one? Optiquest Q9B-2 Model VS11201 Serial Q5W063149765 Excellent product-never a problem. Just need to adjust focus.

Please double check the printer's model, the one you specified does not seems to be a printer model. Also where did you bought from (country).

Waiting clarification, don't hesitate to post.

Thanks and regards

LCD doesn't power up, light just blinks

Look at the power supply first; look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

DCAC40A4 power converter failure

I think this is a dipped .33 uf or 3300pf 250v cap. I thought tantalum, but none are available at 250v, so I think it is ceramic.

http://www.badcaps.net/ has a forum and a section for computer displays. There is a recent post on a viewsonic there.

digikey.com has low cost/order shipping fees, mouser.com has parts too.

Momitor

Probable source of the problem is the horizontal output (and high voltage) circuit although it can be killing the video earlier than that too. First step would be to dis- and reconnect the video cable to ensure it isn't a simple contact problem.
Second, using the brightness and contrast controls to see if anything is still visible. If you have a single horizontal line across the screen, then the problem is in the vertical deflection circuit instead.
If you have nothing, turn the monitor off, wait a few seconds and then back on. If you get a picture first then only a dot, its back to the horizontal circuit again. Try to note how it dies.
You may be able to somewhat diagnose the problem this way but that is a long way from a repair and with the cost of labor and possible unavailability of some parts, you should get an estimate before repairing it since it is possible that replacing it is cheaper. This is not really a DIY project unless you have technical background and a couple of test instruments.

Not on

try eBay ressurectek for repairing you inverter/power supply board. If you have the one transformer (q9b-2) version, he says he can fix it.
