I have a maytag model MFI2067AES refrigerator and the ice and water dispenser is working intermitently. I sometime get water or ice but now most of the time I get nothing eventhough I can hear the switch when I press the dispenser lever. I also see that the ice maker is still making ice which leads me to believe that the water inlet valve is working OK. is there a common solenoid for the water and the ice dispenser that could be the problem? Is there a way for me to troubleshoot it to find out if the problem is with the control board or the chute?

Dave, this is a bad valve. Replace it and all will be well in the world again.

I have had the same problem with different problems each time. The first time the stop lever came loose on one end. This resulted in the ice maker remaining in the off position but looked like iWhen I removed that it worked again. Hope this helps

Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it’s frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don’t refill with water.
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
