Check whether the discs you are using are compatible with the machine. I am now trying to find out if there is some sort of firmware upgrade available.
IMPORTANT: If necessary, consult the instruction manual for specific steps about how to disable the child lock feature.
Attempt to open the disc tray.
If the issue is not resolved, turn off the DVD player.
Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
Attempt to open the disc tray.
If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the POWER+STOP+EJECT buttons; this will sometimes cause the disc tray to open.
If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required. The Sony® eService Web site at http://eservice.sony.com/ can assist you in obtaining service from a Sony Service Center or locating a Sony Authorized Servicer.
It connects on from the big circle to the little circle. The little circle might be under the tray but you might be able to get it on with some tweezers.
You may try a different style DVD disc. Are you using (+), (-), or (RW) the DVD makes a difference.

Here is the manual for your product. Check pages 9 and 10. These pages tell you the type of DVD disc to use, and what speed they can be used.
Let me know what happens.
Good Luck,
