If you have another video card you can try (you can put an AGP card in there, it will disable the onboard video automatically), take that route first. If you can't, or it occurs with another card, it may be your power supply. It would help to know if your pc beeps when you turn it on, and how many - if any - beeps there are.

FOr reset motherbord settings to defaults you can reset with 2 methods.
(1)Pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes so all settings defaults.
(2) Find jumper on motherbord named "Clear cmos" It has 1-2-3 pins.Put jumper in 2-3 position and thne power up then again put pin in 1-2 position thne all settings defaults.
Refix RAM memory.Clean dust from all parts.
Open processor and processor fan.
Remove pci cards from motherbord then check.
Make sure motherbord not ground with cabinet.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi, ideally today you require a minimum of 1G of memory. Also perform a virus scan and malware scan, as your computer could be infected causing it to run slow.
Hope this helps

Front usb port pin bent when plugged in device...computer imediately died...will not power up now

Ah.. That's not so good.
The new USB 2.0 ports carry a bit of power and can burn out things if they get shorted.

It is lucky that this was a front port and not a rear one.
As the front ports are generally connected to the motherboard by a cable that you should be able to find and disconnect the (With the power off, PC unplugged)

It is possible that with the damaged USB Port removed, the PC may boot and operate as normal.
If this doesn't help, you can try replacing the PC's power supply as it also might have gotten fried by the short.

If neither of these work then it would appear that your motherboard's power controlling circuits got fried and replacing it would be the only option left.

Good luck!
