It sounds like you are not recieving a heat feedback signal. It may be as simple as cleaning your flame sensor, using a emery cloth/ scotchbright. Be sure that all gas is turned to the on positions. Also that any safty high limits are closed / reset.

Pitco fryer showing heat failure even when the pilot light is on?

Question moved from Misc

HEAT FAILURE - This means the heating system has failed to respond, which can occur because a high temperature limit switch has been tripped and needs resetting. On gas deep fryers, "HEAT FAILURE" may display if the pilot fails to light or if the pilot flame is too weak as detected by the ignition module.

Pitco deep fryer flames coming out the fryer

Hi there.
The soot or carbon have probably build up inside the fire tubes, better check and have an authorized service technician clean them.
Make sure that the fryer is receiving the rated gas pressure and correct gas type as stated on the nameplate, this way, carbon or soot formation on fire tubes can be prevented
Regards.

Need to adjust pilot light could you explain how? Thanks

Hi there.
Pilot light on Millivolt Gas Valve can be adjusted by removing the screw (with pilot adj mark) just below the gas valve knob and tightening (to increase pilot flame) or loosening (to decrease pilot flame) the screw inside. However, make sure that the gas pressure is sufficient and the pilot assembly is clean before doing this.
Regards.

When the pilot light button is released the flame goes out. (pitco propane fryer) - unsure of model number as data plate is worn. Does the thermopile need replacing ?

Try first to clean the thermopile. If it has accumulated soot/ carbon, it will not sense enough heat from the pilot flame to generate small amount of electricity to energize the pilot valve and main valve of gas valve.

I have a 40c+ss pitco fryer.the pilot will go out at random times.Could be 1hr or 24 hrs after it is lit. The gas valve has been change, and the thermalpile has been replaced.

Check if your pilot flame sufficiently heats thermopile during operation and make sure also that it is free of soot or any form of dirt, thermopile generates small amount of electricity to energize pilot and main valve of the gas valve for pilot and main burner operation. This electricity passes through hi limit mechanical contacts. Hi limit on fryers act as safety device which will shut down pilot and burner flame when oil temperature reaches 450F.
If your fryer is set at 350F and over shoots up to 450F (which will trip hi limit and shut down pilot and burner flame), the thermostat is not good, but, if hi limit trips on temperature much lower than 450F, hi limit is bad.

My pitco 28lb countertop gas deepfryer conv to propane it will l

Check if the flame quality of the pilot is good. Small amount of voltage generated by thermopile used in energizing pilot main valve coil during fryer operation relies on the quality of pilot flame, also, the thermopile itself should be free of soot or any form of dirt in order for it to absorb the heat from pilot flame.
Check also the gas pressure, it should meet the gas pressure required on the nameplate.

Pitco rtg 14 gas pilot goes out

Sounds to me the thermopile (thermocouple) is at fault, it's a safety device to detect if the pilot flame is alight or not. If the pilot should go out for any reason, the thermopile will detect this & shutdown the gas valve (ie the unit will cease to operate).
A new thermopile should solve your problem. It's not a task I would attempt yourself if you are in any doubt.

Pitco fryer pilot out

if you changed the thermopile and still have the same problem make sure that the sensing bulb is directly over the flame. If it is and the thermopile is installed correctly the next thing would be the gas valve.

Hope this helps
