I do not know which model of compaq deskpro I have, But I have used a couple ram cards from another compaq... it increased the ram but the video(from youtube for example) freezes... what can I do to fix it without getting other hardware?

I would buy a cheap usb card to fit into a pci slot on the old computer.
Otherwise you would need a serial cable (if your laptop has a serial port) if not it would be a serial to usb plus the software to transfer, i would say far too much trouble.

Sounds like the video card has quit. It may also have onboard video. I would try a new video card or try onboard video (if equipped). Good Luck

try googling it with you mobo model... try the vendor's website and go to downloads...

yes just pur chase 1 128 MB or 512 MB or 256 MB ram but check first *********** bord ram module
check your old 64 Mb ram if it has 1 notch it is ddr1 or ddr2 if it has 2 notch it iks sdram
then pur chase from shop.
then fix it on secodn slot

Hi!

Two things to do then, either buy a new bigger disk and replace the on on your HP...OR buy an external disk and connect it via the USB.

Just remeber that you need to reinstall everythin on that HP if you replace the disk on it with another one

i got ur answer that is once remove the ram and clean it and keep again. Maximum it works other wise check the load is comg frm smps or not 5v to mother board r not

take the old ram chip(s) out. The speed should be the same. e.g. PC100, PC133 etc. and install your new chips

More Ram,more RAM more RAM!!! Computer recyclers have it.
