There is probably a intermittent problem in the actual LCD display or the built in board, either case the screen down the road will need to be replaced. Check www.ebay.com type make and model of laptop, refine search to screen, this will a idea of pricing.

Try a cheaper solution and replace the inverter, could be a cheap fix.

Hp g62-407dx booting from external mode and black screen

it is not a black screen if there is white text errors
the PC is computing ! (it is NOT dead)
the PC screen works and the HP splash works.(not dead)
yes windows is dead, but that be LAST.
the PC BIOS pages are not dead
if it texted and error PXE bla bla then the RTC coin cells is dead.(fix that now)

if a true black screen happened that is gross power failure
and all above is dead, no text, ever.
the test is simple
g61 only, Hp changed hot keys 2015?

BIOS hot key is ESC
power on, hammer ESC . hammer at the HP slash screen gently and bingo F10 prompt happens so press f10
to to boot order page
make HDD0 first. hard disk drive
save exit. cold boot it.
no CD in tray
no thumb drives or other odd USB things.
if HDD boots then be happy, but that dead coin cell all this happens again. (ac gone and big battery dead or out)
if hDD fails to boot, forced
we run HP diagnostics on the hDD.
and many do fail, no surprise that.
a 2010 made PC.
this PC haS 2010 ccfl back lamps and most are dead
the PC in that case we can force it to external desplay VGA jack. to a real monitor, and see PC is working.

And THIS is a PROBLEM?

OH, I'M JUST KIDDING!

LCD screen needs to be replaced. It's so easy to do, you will be amazed. (...............OK, maybe a little enlightened)

The only "go G62' laptop that I am aware of, is the HP G62 series of Notebook PC's......Don't know about the 'go' thing.

Need the model number off of the bottom of the laptop.
(If an HP, look in the white Service Tag on the bottom of the laptop.
Need the Product Number. P/N = Product Number)

Post back in a Comment.
This way I can step by step guide you, and also post a few examples of LCD screen replacements. This way you will get a feel of how to look for a replacement LCD screen by yourself.
(You may be better at it, it may differ for the country you are in {Accessibility}, and it won't look as though I may be advertising for an LCD screen replacement store.........I DON'T, lol!)

Let's say it's an HP G62 series of Notebook PC,

When referencing to a computer; desktop or laptop; the inference should be to the model number.

With an HP it's the Product Number.

I need to reset the bios on a HP G62-435DX

Hi.

The HP G62 does not have jumpers on the motherboard to short the CMOS/BIOS to reset it, all you can do is turn the laptop upside down and then remove battery and the memory & wifi cover, under that cover you will see a black, round penny shaped item with red wires coming from it. Follow the wires and unplug it. That is the CMOS/BIOS or RTC battery, leave both the main battery and the CMOS battery out for at least 10 minutes. Below is a picture for you to refer to.

When i turn on my HP g62 the screen goes white

HiPerform a hard resetIf a PC suddenly fails to boot properly, you should perform a hard reset as the first procedure.
  1. Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove all USB devices and media cards. You want to test the computer not the accessories!
  2. Disconnect the AC power adapter, remove the battery, and then press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds .
  3. Reconnect the AC power adapter (but do not connect the battery), Press the Power button,Look for glowing LEDs near caps lock and num lock keys, and Listen for sounds of a disk drive and fan turning.Hope this helpsRegardsMichelle

Laptop Screen faded white

There are a couple of possibilities.

1. A cable has come loose inside the computer4.gif.

2. A cable has become defective.

3. The LCD is defective.

If you wiggle the LCD back and forth and you can get the picture to work again intermittently then answers 1 & 2 above would be more likely.
