Blinking light on laptop?

From Hp the blinking light indicates sleeping mode. Suggest you push the power button for 20 to 30 seconds. The light should go out. Repower on the computer. If it goes back to blinking mode then there is a hardware issue.

UNLOCK HP admin password hp 655

If you forgot your windows Account Login password, the following page is a good description of your choices... http://pcsupport.about.com/od/tipstricks/tp/find-lost-windows-passwords.htm Also, check out... http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/ If these do not help, and you have files that you do not want to lose, you could try this... Pull the hard drive out, and use a "USB Hard Drive Adapter" (available fairly cheap online) to connect the hard drive to a friend's computer, and save all the personal files (documents, pictures, etc.) you can to a folder on the friend's computer or an external hard drive. Then, you could try to do a Factory Restore on the computer, and if that works, copy your personal files back to your newly restored computer.

What thermal paste and how to apply it to stop Probook 6550 overheating?

Applying thermal past should be as small as a match stick head (about 3 should do the trick.....does for me all the time). A zinc or copper based thermal past will do just fine. Sodium fluoride which is found in almost all toothpaste..works for me as well. As for the pressure as soon as the heatsink sites and locks that will do just fine.

Win XP instaling problem on Hp probook 6550b

Hope you are using a fresh windows XP install of the entire system. HP drivers will need to be obtained and installed before running. The error on the screen usually is a driver error and not a XP issue.

My webcam doesnt work on window xp

You need to install (1) the webcam driver, and (2) the webcam software. If your hp does not provide the webcam software, then you can use manycam.com's webcam software.

Shut down windows

Try holding the shift key down while selecting restart, then select "Turn off your PC." Then power it back on normally. Startup will likely be a little longer than normal. (The default "Shutdown" option in Windows 8 actually just hibernates your laptop.)

Touch-sensitive control doesn't work anymore

You need to reinstall the drivers for those HP control buttons. When you installed your system the installation script creates a folder with name such as SWSetup or Software Setup where all the drivers and HP applications are stored, in case you want to reinstall them. It usually is at the root of the Drive C: If you cannot find them visit the HP support website and download the drivers.
