My acer aspire ax1700 freezes the screen sending color lines acros the screen i cheked the hard drive and its very hot and im planing to b uy a 2tb internal hard drive would that fix the problem and can the pc take a 2tb hard drive?
Anny PC can take a 2tb hdd along as you enable it in the bios also on that note check for overheating on ether your internal graphic chip or card as overheating will cause that problem

Open your program files on your old HDD, Find your Tv Tuner drivers in there, Now you can either drag them onto your new hard drive or copy them into the Program files on your new Hard drive. Make sure you have them in you new one and then unhook you old HDD and Open TV tuner Files should self install. Or you could also, If you know the name of the tv tuner model and series go to Add New hardware Icon in your control panel. Do it from there when it wants you to install from a specific place choose that option then the name of the device should be there under the network option, find your device and install it from that location I sure Hope that Helps you out

Perform a system recovery:
Does not come with recovery cd's - there is a program that allows you to burn the disks or
recover.

1. If in Windows - Start - Programs - Acer empowering technology - Acer E-recovery management -
click on Restore at bottom then "Restore to factory default settings"
2. Or click on Burn disks instead of restore
3. if unable to ge into Windows then Alt/F10 during boot right after Acer splash screen on startup

Hi, thanks... so your suggestion is to get the HD out of the present system and plug it into a drive caddy and access the drive from another system to backup all the data. Then plug back the HD into the original system and re-install the original system?

When you turn it on, does it respond? Do any lights lit up? Do you have a known good ac adapter to try it with? Or is the ac adapter you are using lits up and/or powering on a different computer?Try to test both to check the functionality of the ac adapter and the port. If ac adapter will work with a different pc, then possibly the port is damaged. You may need to replace the motherboard. If still it wont turn on, then you may just need to replace the ac adapter.

i did check the integrated chip for video and changed te thermal paste with a new one and its still doing the freeze thing so that means i will have to ad a video card as well?
hi, regarding the problem with my pc stillperisist i have change the hard drive and it still freezen ihooked up and external video card and still does the same thing, i clean the memory and still making the same thing what could it be, i restart my pc and it pases the 5 min mark and freezes and then i started up again and it freezes whitin 3 hours so it varies on how much time its freezen the pc
