It could be a problem with the lens you could use a liquid type lens cleaner place 2-3 drops on top of a cd/dvd then run it if this fails you might try cleaning the lens it's already gone bad there is no harm in trying If you take a little risk can solve . follow the instruction: Don't panic its very simply. 1. When running your pc , open the drawer.> 2. switch off the ac power 3. remove power cable & sata or pata cable 4. remove all the screw from the back side 5. press clip to open the font panel 6. reverse the cd/dvd rw 7. just remove the cover 8. clean the optical lance 9. use a little( not much )oil place on two steel shaft 10.cover all the equipment 11.now you can fit to your pc Ifit does the same problem please change the cd/dvd rw because the lance has defected

'''c:\program filesa\ECSspecialisTfilter\shooter.exe'''

well im guessing that its a virus just wanting to cause you to get upset. deal is virus protection wont always...sometimes flat out wont work if you already have a virus creepin behind the scences!
i had this isssue once and all i had to do was use my RECOVERY DISC to set it to factory setting. Mine was 2 dvd discs and i had a dvd burner of course. but thats only when i bought it. it says you should make one and i did and i simply start it like the day i bought it! your harddrive will be erased but ensures that the virus wont be in the hard drive anymore. my computer has 2 70gb hard drives and i simply moved my favorite files to the other hardrive which doesnt have my OS on it!

So if you dont have a recovery disc then your best option is this! your number on you pc either near the back, side or front on a sticker has a code that is yours to keep for life.. if its Windows Xp home or xp pro or xp OFFICE then that OS is yours and now you need to either find a windows installer disc that has your OS.

So if you happen to have a windows disc with ur OS you can use that to reinstall ur OS with its NUMBER and it will WIPE UR HARDDRIVE CLEAN BUT FIXS ALMOST ANY PROBLEM> LIKE THE DAY YOU BOUGHT IT. some just start up while windows runs . some computers you need to put the disc in ur cd or dvd rom and then start restart ur computer and hit the commands at the begining! its either F2, F10 or any F set it says! either chose boot from ur DVD or CD rom and hit ok or enter. or for some users go to BIOS SETUP ]F2[ for most all comps then find where boot squence is and set ur DVD or CD rom as the first to boot from! but make sure when ur done installing ur os change it to ur hardrive. o make sure that you know you can transfer your key files you want to keep to a external device!

So if you dont have a CD or DVD windows installer if you have a CD or DVD burner you can downlaod a WINDOWS XP HOME ISO bootable image and use a A PROGRAM THAT LETS YOU BURN BOOTABLE ISOs TO A CD[ IPREFER CD DUE TO XP HOME OR XP PRO OR XP OFFICE IS ONLY AROUND 600MBS dvds may not work.. torrents can help you find ISOs here is home if that what u have

http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5063617/Windows_Xp_Home_Edition

. BITTORRENT as spelled google it and then download install it then go to

http://www.bittorrent.com/btusers/download/?

thepiratebay.org and search for your OS then download it and chose bittorrent as the program to open and it will download and it will be in MY documents then downloads. use the cd burning program to mount the file the use it as a windows installer disc! sorry if this doesnt help! i hope this works out! remember ur download your OS and that ur hardraive will be erased to ensure a clean hardrive

Screen display problems when running Adventures in Typing

I bought this for my daughters back in 2000. Now I find my mother wants to become a silver surfer and she would like to learn how to type letters. I tried using Adventures in typing on her laptop and saw that there were compatability issues. After a lot fo experimneting I found asloution that works every time and is as simple as can be. this is what I did (and printed out for my Mum:-)

Hi Mum :-)
Video problems with Adventures in typing with Timone and Poomba

There are compatibility issues with Windows Vista and this program

To overcome these problems we need to force windows Vista to use an
older Video format (from the days when the program was first published).

A short cut has been created and placed on your desktop.
The compatibility (properties) on the short cut have been set to –
  • Windows 95
  • 256 colours
  • 640 x 480

To create the short cut –
Place the CD-rom in the Disc bay and hold down the Shift key while the the CD-rom boots up. This prevents Autorun.
Now use Windows Explorer to look at the files and folders on the CD-rom.
Look for the Setup.exe file.
Right click on it to create a short cut that will be placed on your desktop.
Go to the short cut and right click on it to select the properties.
Now change the compatibility to the settings mentioned above.
Remove the CD-rom from the disc bay.

This is how to use the program Adventures in typing with Timone and Poomba on a computer running Windows Vista

  1. Do not put the CD-rom in the computer until you are asked
  2. Indentify the shortcut/icon on your desktop to start the program
    Click on this shortcut/icon
  3. When the computer asks for the CD-rom, place it in the disc bay and wait for the program to start.
  4. Use the program as normal.
  5. To quit the program so that it saves the progress you have made – use the QUIT symbol in the program’s screen
  6. When the program has shut-down, remove the CD-rom from the disc bay
Note that steps 1 through to 7 have to be done every time the program is started and stopped.

You will not have to do anything to put settings back to where they should be – Windows Vista will do that automatically.

This is how to stop any program if you are having problems and can not see how to stop it.
  1. Press the following two keys together Ctrl Alt
  2. While holding those two keys down, press a third key – the Delete key
  3. A menu will pop up.
Click once on the Task Manager option
  4. A new window will open with a list of the programs that are running on your computer. Click once on the program that is causing the problem.
  5. At the bottom of the new window click on End Task
  6. The program that was causing the problem will be shut down for you.
Note that using this method is a sort of emergency stop so it will not save any new work you have done on the program/file.

Computer turns on, wont load windows, then goes to a blank screen

When a PC boots first it checks all of the hardware to ensure all is working properly. The stage two of that is turning it over to the operating system. When it is turned over to the operating system the first thing it looks for is the Master Boot Record which is a small program on your hard drive that starts your operating system. If it cannot find the Master Boot Record or if the boot record is corrupt then the operating system will not load. In order to fix put the WIndows operating system disk into your CD ROM and let it boot to the CD ROM. Allow it to load for a few minutes and it will eventually ask you if you want to proceed with the installation or "repair". Choose repair. This is one option to fix your boot record.
Second option is to use Recovery Console. Put the Windows CD in the CD ROM. Click on Start and then Run. In the run box type D:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons (where D is your CD ROM drive). Follow the instructions on the screen. You will be at the command line, type in FIXBOOT. This will also fix your master boot record. Follow these procedures anytime you have an operating system load error use the Recovery CD as your last resort. Hope this helps.

Programme does'nt open

here is the solution for your problem :
A problem has been identified when installing early pressings of the CD-ROM on machines running Windows 98 or Windows ME in conjunction with certain antivirus software and firewalls. The installation appears to be successful but the OALD 7 Compass program fails to launch with no error message given, or with a message "License data invalid".
Should you encounter this problem:
  1. Download oald7.zip (4.5 megabytes)
  2. Unzip oald7.zip to extract the oald7.exe program
  3. Ensure your OALD 7 Compass CD-ROM is in your CD-ROM drive
  4. Replace the old oald7.exe file on your computer (this is usually found in c:\Program Files\Oxford\OALD7) with the new oald7.exe file you have downloaded
  5. You should now be able to run the OALD 7 Compass software
If the download doesn't work, we can send you this file on a CD-ROM - please email us , and tell us your full postal address. You will need to copy the update file to your hard drive to install it, as you will need your OALD 7 Compass CD-ROM in your CD-ROM, as above.
Please email [email protected] if you require further help.
