Remove the CMOS battery and switch On.Then change your jumper now easily you can enter it.

Which software are you trying to reinstall? Are there any error messages?

You can plug the first monitor to the VGA port and the second to the DisplayPort to the left side of the laptop


Notice: you will need a separate cable to be able to use DisplayPort

you failed because of one reason, you asked on fixya not HP'
why ask here, there are no HP(few) folks here, they are all over at HP, real forum.?
bios resets are tricky,
the new rules changed with UEFI BIOS and or TPM chips added.
back in 2007 the mobo had reset jumper, (mine desktop does)
but not my 2008 elitebook laptop, due to the TPM rules.

without HP direct intervention (fixya can never ever do that)
the send you a special binary flash file that only works on YOUR PC (a fact and is by DESIGN)

never use a BIOS password, unless you write it down and hide the paper in a book you know, where it is. (got books?) i know books are now (dead technology but)>?
if you guess and start flashing BIOS, you will BRICK THIS PC.

Try to call the customer support of dell.they can tell you where to purchased the manual.

To resolve this issue, create a BIOS administrator password and delete previous ProtectTools user logs by following this procedure:

1. Download and install the latest SSM utility (SP42536).

2. Navigate to c:\Program Files\Hewlett Packard\SSM .
   

3. Access biosconfigutility.exe to reset the BIOS administrator password.
   a. From a command prompt, navigate to the SSM folder.
   b. Type biosconfigutility.exe to start the utility. A list of commands displays.
   c. Type /newsetuppassword:"password" to create a new BIOS administrator password.
   d. Close the command window.

   
   

4. Restart the notebook PC and press F10 at startup.
   

5. Log in using the new BIOS administrator password.
   

6. Choose User Management and delete any previous ProtectTools users.
   

7. Save the new settings and exit startup.
