Every time I plug it into my Dell Inspiron M5030 Laptop, it enters power save mode. The computer's display settings adjust (set for extend display), but the monitor enters power save. Analog input, blue fifteen pin, and my video card is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250.

Hi,
Please check the cables.
loose input connection may take monitor into power saving mode.
Does the LCD show anything when computer boots?
Please disconnect the DVI input to the LCD and check. If this problem persists, it has nothing to do with BIOS or driver updates.
hope it works,
cheers,

try to reconnect the cables to ensure it's properly plugged in (if you have another monitor, you can try it to ensure that your system is running properly) If you narrow it down to a monitor problem, it's most likely the inverter/power supply board in the monitor. If it's covered under warranty, you can send it back to Dell and they should send you a refurbed unit. If not, the board can be as expensive as finding a decent used monitor on ebay that works.

You'll need to troubleshoot a little. SOmething may be broken, but you'll need to find out what. 1: Try the monitor on another computer, see wether it will work on that one. If it doesn't, the monitor's broken and you're probably going to need a new one. 2: If the monitor does work, put it back, but now use another cable to connect it to the PC. If that fixes it, your cable was broken. 3: If not, you could try to switch the graphics card in the PC with another one. Do not attempt that, however, unless you know what you're doing. If you don't, get someone you know to do it for you, or take it to a computer shop. If the PC will boot with another graphics card, the old one is broken. 4: If not, it may be your motherboard that's broken. Repeat step 3 with it. These steps should fix your problem. If not, please post back here. Regards, Yannick.

The monitor has the standard red green blue white test screen when it's not plugged in. When I plug it in, it says it's detecting the analog input, with a 1 and nothing below it. Then it says Power Save Mode and goes to sleep, and the power button goes from green to yellow. I've updated the drivers. Still didn't work. So I plugged it into another computer, with the same cord. Bam, it works. The problem is obviously my computer. I have had to factory reset my computer twice in the past two months (user error was involved). I don't have the money to take it to any kind of repair shop. I'll try plugging it in again, checking to see if it's a connection problem.
It's not detecting the computer still, even when switching to "2: Analog Input". It says to press a key or move the mouse, but doesn't respond when I do.
Drivers are up to date, because the computer can detect the monitor. I'm using Windows 7.
Gulzar, I'll give it a shot
