Old Window Air-Conditioner isnt cold anymore... :(

General Electric Skinny 1800. Model # ACE18DEAB.
This is an old unit but it was as good as ever last summer. Now i fired it after several months of inactivity and it is not cold!? Now i know nothing of air-conditioning and i am wondering if it could need a re-gas?

Yep you probably need to change what they call in french(le FRION)? sorry dude,i can't remember the word in english.hope it helps!

It is not enough btu`s most likely,but you can dissasemble the unit and clean it,and the coils.

Not blowing cold air anymore
Possibly dirty evaporator coil or condenser coil. Maybe dirty filters. Also could be low on refrigerant charge.

Air condition unit freezes up
the unit may be too small for the room. or the filter need to be cleaned. also once a rea you need to sprey a mixute of warm water and amonia to clean the coils.

Unit has probably lost its charge of refrigerant.

Check for warranty, or buy another one.

Usually they are not worth repairing, sorry
