A PROBLEM likely to be either in the optical light engine or a separate digital board in the set---engine is more likely and a very expensive part not to mention labor.

SOURCE: toshiba 61 inch rear projection scrambled picture

If you are seeing lines and or noise for the first several minutes and it goes away--I think I know what the problem is.

Has the period of time before it clears up been getting longer and longer?

Reply to me with the exact model number and I will tell you what is wrong and what has to be done to fix it.

A lot of these sets have problems with what is called a HYPER board----it controls all signal inside the set--confirm Toshiba and exact model number---

SOURCE: HD channel picture is clear, but regular digital picture scramble

o.k. check all your connections
if you have a newer house check to see if you have a main hub in a closet somewhere and check all connections. Check your hd receiver and you may be able to chage the DPI the receiver receives in.

I have this problem on some of my non HD channels, also. So much for going digital. I get fuzz and pixel problems "from time to time", but, if it is really bad and consistent your should call your service provider.

Things to ask also ? are you using cable or satellite.

If satellite T.V. there are other reasons you could be experiencing problems.

hope this helps!

SOURCE: turn on tv and get

I would suspect your power supply deflection board is failing. Normally these tvs have a problem with the hyper board in which the image is scrambled and then clears up. Your problem is just the opposite and indicates a part is heating up on the power board. A good visual look at the board will be your best starting point. Look for burn marks, a capacitor that is rounded on top or leaking. Also look carefully to ensure your CRT bulbs have not leaked fluid onto one of the boards.

It's a starting point.

Half screen showing picture other half showing color lines

This is a catastrophic and known failure of older Toshiba sets, not much you can do, try to take out a retrospective extended warranty, wait a month and claim, good luck.

Autiovox lcd Half the screen turns blue the other half has virtical lines in it.

Typical of the glue that holds the circuit to the screen coming loose.
it will take a very good repairman to fix this and he will have to know where to find the glue, its special with microbeads embedded.

Sound and no picture

Hi, if your getting half a picture AND the other half is black the vertical circuit is failing, either solder is broken or vertical IC needs to be replaced, not a pricey fix, BMW Rider

Toshiba 42 inch rear projection TV

You likely have a bad hyper board.  As time goes on the lenght of time it takes to get a clear picture will increase and eventually the picture will never clear up untill the part is either repaired or replaced.
