Will not display photos

Frame has worked perfectly for more than a year. The other day when I switched it on, I got a blue-bordered white box on the screen with red lettering saying "NOT SUPPORT - RECOMMEND - 640 X 480 60HZ". This appears each time unit is powered on now, and cannot get frame to function.

PANDIGITAL Digital Photo Frame works perfectly except the SCREEN Flickers Black after a few moments

Annemarie, I had a similar problem with an off-brand photo frame from Wal-Mart last year, although in my case the frame would shut down entirely after it had flickered a few times. In my case, I was able to remove the back of the frame's case by removing 4 screws (two were hidden underneath model number stickers) and inspecting the device's innards... what I found was that, as you surmised, there was a loose connection from the female end of the DC-in power supply. The ground connection to the device's circuit board had been poorly soldered, leaving the connection itself loose and a small piece of solder on top of the board and very near the positive connection.
While not being the best solderer in the world, with the aid of a magnifying glass, a solder removal tool, and a ColdHeat soldering wand, I was able to heat the offending piece of solder and remove it from the circuit board and then, as I was personally uncertain of my ability to re-solder the connection without melting the board, I simply held the connection in place and applied a dab of hot glue to keep it there. After the glue cooled, I reassembled the case and the frame worked for almost another year before something else finally burned out and it was left cold and dark.
Hope this helps, good luck!

My screen i showing a light blue/teal tint in areas where there should be white

no photos posted, it takes what, 5min to snap photo and post it?
old CQ56, a relic in PC dog lives, for sure.
pages, what pages,? name one/?
videos, well that is complex topic, videos have vast formats
and the players used and sources, non of which you stated.
whAT OS, XP the virus magnet, never post lacking OS name and version. or its all just fireworks, and bs.

Id reload the unstated OS, of XP for sure.
wow a real model stated, here, fully,
CQ56-115DX
it came new with XP or W7 new. what might yours be?
last year, W7 was upgraded to W10 for free, did you?
we cant guess ANY of that.
Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX Notebook PC birth year 2009/10
still supported by HP, lucky you, that the software for it free while HP still has it.

ill now post on video
videos can be viewed online or off.
Il'l guess you do this online. like youtube.
I use VLC, the player works.
most others dont or can not do some formats, (bad acts)
as in most program apps, xp verison are rife with viruses on line
so avoid XP. unless that is fun, getting cyberattacked.
most sources are malware or worse, use the makers pages.
is best. this is the best I can do lacking OS name, and no photos of the failing app.

The first thing to try would be to update your graphics display drivers. You can find them here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=uk&lc=en&product=4320579
Reboot and test.

If that does not work try the solution below:
Manually updating display drivers: to do this, hold the windows button and press 'R', this should bring up the run dialogue box type in 'devmgmt.msc' with no quotes and press enter.
This will bring up the device manager, you should see a list, in this list click the down arrow next to 'Display Adapters', you should now see your graphics card information being displayed. In this you should see which manufacturer has made the card, for example NVIDIA or AMD etc. Depending on who has made it go to their website (NVIDIA is here: and download the latest drivers for your card and install. Reboot and you should be good to go.
