Green Screen I've got a problem with my Dell E156FP 15" LCD monitor. For no apparent reason, when viewing anything black, it now appears as a hazy green all over. Yes, the cables are all securely plugged in, nothing seems to be physically damaged/loose/etc. It was fine before, then I rebooted one night and when the computer came back up, I noticed the color change. Mind you, it isn't that green has replaced black. It's just that instead of being a pure, dark black, it now has a hazy green tint to it. This is especially distracting when playing a game or viewing images. When I use the auto-reset button, the color goes back to normal, but only for a few seconds and then returns to this nasty green tint. Any ideas on how to fix this, or even what the problem might be? I've checked the cords a hundred times, tried tweaking the settings in Windows XP, tried changing the monitor's settings, nothing seems to help. I really don't want to have to call Dell and possibly get a new monitor. Haven't even had this computer for 6 months yet, the monitor shouldn't be dying already.

SOURCE: monitor screen changes from regular color to a green tinted screen?

Is the cable connected securely? You may need to check your video card also. You may be able to disconnect the cable and get a red, green, blue icon on the screen. If that appears normal then there is nothing wrong with the monitor itself, it may be the cord or the video card.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: E173FP monitor fix

Depending on when you bought it. There should be at least a one year warranty. If its still under warranty have dell replace it.

SOURCE: Cant figure out color issue with computer.

Well...it's a Dell and even when it's well...it's still a Dell.
Have you tried the monitor on different system to eliminate the tower being the problem? Some have updated and/or rolled back drivers to help cure this problem, which seems to be a common issue with this LCD. Personally i think the contrast ratio is inadequate.
Good luck with your Delllll...

Looks like you need to purchase a new monitor. If it's too worn out then it's the outcome. I also had the same problem before and I ended up buying a new one. You should not experience that thing if it's new.

To adjust the brightness and contrast, do the following:

1. Press the either the Minus button and highlight the option you wish to change.
2. Press the Menu button to select the highlighted option.
3. Press the - or + buttons to adjust the brightness/contrast settings.

Dell E156FP Monitor Problem

If the screen is not completely black (i.e. just very very dim, turn the lights off to see) try using the controls at the bottom of the monitor to reset to factory settings (all settings). I have had this problem with two dell monitors so far and this seems to work.

Dell 15 inch lcd monitor issue

The first thing you should do is change the monitor for another known working monitor to make sure it is the monitor that is faulty and not the video output of your computer.
