Depending on when you bought it. There should be at least a one year warranty. If its still under warranty have dell replace it.

My Dell E173FP monitor will not come on. I have unplugged and replugged the cable from monitor to hard drive case as well as the a/c power cord. I have rebooted the computer several times and all I get on...

The dreaded blinking green led without a display, means that the backlight circuit has failed on this monitor. Typicalll the transistors that drive the backlight transformers short out and fail. I have fixed this on my monitors twice. Very common failure for this monitor and can be fixed quite easy if you know how to use a soldering iron and a meter. They even sell a repair kit on ebay that provides parts to repair this monitor. Just go to ebay and search e17fpb repair and to find it. Hope this helps.

Screen Goes Blank

Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.

Dell monitor shows blank screen, green power light stays on

Hello,

You have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitorswill blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts calledcapacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you aregood at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htmYou can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictues and your monitor should workfine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and -connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one thesame way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Monitor went black

Same with mine a couple days ago. I've been told the contacts have oxidized and need to be cleaned. It was going to cost about $80 to fix and no guarantee how long it would last so I just bought a new monitor.

Flickering switch light, blank screen

Hi, First of all it is not advisable to open up monitors without proper tools as they contain hazardous elements. Dell monitors however do have a 3 year SEPARATE warranty. Check on the back of the monitor and look for the monitor serial number. is should start with CN-xxxxx-,, or JP-XXXXX-. give that to a dell tech and they should be able to replace that.
