Look carefully at the SD card. On one side you will find a "lock" switch. The card in question has this switch in the lock position. You can not delete an existing video because the delete function actually requires the ability to update the card which is a writing function. Flip the switch and your problem should be resolved.

Is it DVD+R? DVD-R? DVD+RW? DVD-RW?

you usually get this "no disk" on screen when inserting a non readable disk or a disk that it doesnt support.
