Yes! The light on mine stays red as well. I know power is getting somewhere, it just isn't taking photos. Has anyone figured out why yet?

SOURCE: shooting out film

Unfortunately you have a broken camera and it's not really fixable. There are plenty of free/cheap examples on FreeCycle and in thrift/charity shops but as you've discovered to your cost there's only one rather expensive way to find out whether they work...

SOURCE: I've just bought a Polaroid 600 camera off ebay

If the camera is showing no signs of life at all then you probably have an old stock photo pack loaded into it. These have the camera battery built in to them and like all batteries have a finite shelf life.

If you have a voltmeter then remove the photo pack and measure the voltage on the electrical contact points on the underside, if it's below a steady 6v then the battery is dead. If not the camera is dead and you can pick replacements up for less than the cost of a photo pack from thrift/charity shops and there's plenty of free ones available on Yahoo FreeCycle

SOURCE: I have a polaroid film 600 camera where can I get

The battery comes built in to the photo pack. All photo packs are now past their use by dates though as they have been out of production for more than a year, so any which you do find may have weak or flat batteries.

Photo packs which have been kept refrigerated will have better colour production and more accurate contrast but are far more likely to have flat batteries. Photo packs stored at around a constant twenty degrees Celsius are more likely to have a good battery, but there is a greater chance of poor photo colours & contrast and there is a greater chance that the photo ejection rollers will fail to squeeze the developing chemicals evenly across the photo.

The camera can be modified to take an external film pack, but it's a DIY job using whatever you have to hand; unfortunately I can't recall what the correct voltage is but if you ask another question on FixYa then someone will know.

SOURCE: I got a Polaroid OneStep 600 Flash Close-Up, it

Polaroid Stopped making the film about 2 years ago. You can still find some film out of New York and Amazon, some reviews are good, some are saying the filme is not good or out of date. Find a reputable dealer. New polaoid or a new "polaroid" product may be coming out sometime soon, see http://www.the-impossible-project.com/

SOURCE: Which film is best for the Polaroid One Step 600

Polaroid has not manufactured film for 600 cameras in about 5 years now. The only current source is The Impossible Project, which gives 8 shots per pack, black and white images only, and they tend to fade rather quickly. You can find and order online by searching the name. The Polaroid versions available are no longer really usable because the batteries are drained, film has expired and chempaks have oxidized.

Again, the only CURRENT, in-date, usable film for Polaroid 600 is made by TIP, available thru their website. There are some scumbags out there online selling old Polaroid film they've re-dated and selling it as current and fresh film - it is not. The newest Polaroid brand film expired in 2009. Buyer beware.

My polaroid camera won't eject the film. Are the cameras broken or is the battery dead?

When you take a picture of darkness, are you using flash or uprating the film ?
More seriously, as the film is thirteen years out of date, I seriously doubt if it is still viable. The chemicals within the film pack will have deteriorated over time, and it is my guess that they may well have leaked into the film pack's internal mechanism, thus preventing the photos being ejected. Try again with fresh film.

My clicker isnt working, and it wont take pictures, what do I do?

Remove the film, blow out the chamber with a good airbrush (where the film/battery goes). Clean and replace the film (give it a wipe). Sometimes the contacts get dust on them and stuffs everything up

If the batteries are ok, and you have followed the instruction manual to the letter then I would sugest you take it back from where you got it?

I have not used this camera in years and assume that film battery is dead - green light flashes and also wondering if tab is not on the film - how do I get out. Is there a place other than film to put...

Polaroid 600 film cameras only have a single battery, built into the film packs. To remove the film pack, open the door on the door and grip the sides of the pack and slide it out.

I have an old Polaroid Impulse camera I want give to my grandson. I just want the flash to work. Where do I put the batteries? He's only 2, he doesn't need film! Debbie

The batteries for Polaroid 600 series cameras are located inside the film pack. Polaroid discontinued manufacture of their film in 2006, a company called The Impossible Project has began limited production of some of this type of film but it's selling for about $20/10 photos.

Polaroid 600 Camera, won't take a picture.

How old is the film in it?

Polaroid film packs have a battery included (a polarpulse powercell, I think).

If its an old film, the battery can go flat and as far as I'm aware there's no way to get power in to it.

I would take the cartridge out, (effectively not use the last shot), try a new cartridge to see if its working properly, then send the old cartridge back to Polaroid, if you think its faulty.

95 Film Polaroid captiva SLR

You can find Polaroid 95 or 600 on Ebay. It is very expensive. A lot of 600 exposures will run $1500.00 or ther was 40 exposures for $200.00. Needless to say it isnt made anymore. The battery is actually in the film pack. No film, no working camera.

How do I change the battery in a Polaroid Sun600 lms?

The battery is contained within the film pack. The battery in the film was designed to ensure that fresh batteries were in place each time a new film was inserted. This is the battery that operated the flash, and the film eject motor. Polaroid has wound down production of the 600 type film, and there is no replacement forthcoming.
