2008 cts will not start. not sure if it is battery because the lights on the inside come on . When the key is turned it just makes a clicking noise.

Do you own a multimeter and a test light? Can you perform some diagnostics on the battery, continuity check on the ground and (+) cable and at the fuse box. Your symptoms sound like that of a low battery or poor electrical connection. Please write back with questions and new information. Good Luck.

Sounds like your battery is low or the starter is not engaging. Check the battery for 12 volts, then if it is still clicking but not starting, then all you have left is to take the starter off and have it tested free at autozone before you buy, to know for sure.

The tire sensors are not the fault in not starting. at the age of the car, I would have a good test on the battery, but if it tests OK, then look to the stsarter for a solutoin. of a connection.

clean battery posts and cable ends and make sure to tighten securely when done

The gauges are doing a self check. What happens when you turn the key. Is there a clicking noise. Or one click? Do the lights go dim inside the truck when you turn the key. More info please

Double check your battery connections. If the battery is new and the starter makes a series of clicking noises when the key is held in the start position than you are not getting a good power supply to the starter or there is not a sufficient ground.

Take it by a parts store they will test the battery an charging system .

Could be the BTSI solenoid in the shifter, have that checked . You may have to buy complete shifter if it proves bad. This would keep you from removing key. Call you local dealer with VIN number and mileage have them check for the recall pertaining to the key rotation, yours may or may not be involved.

The battery may need replacing. I've experience the same problem and the battery was the problem. Good luck. Ned

hi, when it dont turn over do you hear a clicking noise or is the engine turning over and just not starting.
If its the first and when you turn the key the starter motor dont turn the engine over allowing it to start you will usually hear a clicking noise and this is the selanoid inside the starter motor failing to make a connection.
