I just put a brand new battery in it. I will check to see if i can barrow a multimeter or test light. The zoo was driving and starting just fine I gave it to my brother-in-law and he said that it started giving him problems starting or while he was driving it would shut off then he put stereo speakers and amp in to the Jeep and he said something about it locking up on him while driving locking the steering wheel and everything turn off the vehicle and the anti-theft light started flashing then he said he got the Anti-Theft light to turn off when he returned the battery into the vehicle no speakers amp or radio in it the alarm would I did not see an alarm in the vehicle. Also when he put the stereo amp and speakers into the vehicle I did not have a stock stereo in it to begin with the aftermarket stereo I had in it would turn off sometimes by itself and turn back on sometimes it would just flashed like it had a short

We kind of came to the conclusion that we all think it would be the Anti-Theft system but I don't know how to bypass it or fix the actual reason it's making the anti-theft system go on

So you put the new battery in and it started and drove fine. UNTIL you lent it to your brother- in-law. Who had multiple problems with it right away and also installed a new stereo that is also having problems. WOW!!! That is a mouth full. My gut is telling me there is an electrical problem. It may or may not be related to the recent radio installation. Shorted, loose, corroded or broken wiring and connectors could be at fault. Diagnostics is absolutely necessary. The anti theft system will not create clicking noises nor will it shut down the engine. Its possible that there is more than one problem. Is the security light flashing with the key turned to the RUN position? There isn't a bypass, rather a reset but that is disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes. I feel that was already done when the new battery was installed. Let me know what the plans are. I don't know their level of diagnostic skills. Please write back with new information and questions.

so I spoke to my brother-in-law and he said that at one point the alarm system started to sound and would not turn off until the battery was unplugged or dead and every time it was reconnected and we continue to go off I do not know how he got it. But it no longer does

Hi Cori. Sorry for the late response. I did already reply remotely but I don't see it. I wrote that I am happy for you and that your Brother-in-law was able to fix your car. I would be consider keeping an eye on it. Since he doesn't know why it happened it may happen again. Electrical surges and glitches do occur. Congratulation on getting your car back on the road. Good Luck. Best Regards.

Do you own a multimeter and a test light? Can you perform some diagnostics on the battery, continuity check on the ground and (+) cable and at the fuse box. Your symptoms sound like that of a low battery or poor electrical connection. Please write back with questions and new information. Good Luck.

SOURCE: clicking noise when trying to start car, battery is ok, wont start

That Clicking is the Battery causing it not to Start. You need to Replace that Battery or at Least put a Charger on it for a Couple of hours to see if you can Salvage it for a While.

SOURCE: Rapid clicking noise coming from under the dashboard.

If you have a tape cassette player in the dash, this can cause a sound like what you are describing. Even though a tape is not in it,,, it can still freak out and cause this sound. Had this happen on several of my old vehicles. Let us know if this helps. Leave feedback for others to see. Thanks.

SOURCE: 02 Chevy Cavalier - Fast Clicking Noise When I Turn Key

if you recently replaced the battery and are continuing to have this issue, i suggest that you clean the battery terminals.

obviously your car is getting power (fast clicking indicates this) so you will need a good battery jump. also check your cables, sometimes your cables may not supply sufficient power for the recharge

My 2002 isuzu trooper, 4.3 liter engine, will not start. The battery is good and fully charged. It has been suggested I remove the alternator and take it in to be tested. How do I remove it.

Hi,all the alternators job is,is to charge the battery,so the alternator has nothing to do with it not starting.now if your battery keeps draining down and you have to recharge it every couple of days, then it would be the alternator that was bad.but if you have a fully charged battery and it still wont start, its another problem! does it turn over and try to start but not start?? or when you turn the key over does it just go click-click-click?? or does it just not make any noise at all when you turn the key over?? it makes a big diffrence which of the three its doing, let me know which one its doing, also you can take your battery to auto-zone and they will load test to see if its holding a charge ok.....just let me know.......yz-maniac.

Oil Pressure Problems on a 1988 Iszuzu Trooper

This engine is only the 4ZE1 2.6L EFI in the USA spec-models. The engine will run for a very long time with proper maintenance. Oil pressure falling only after warm-up indicates that the oil, when cold, is thick enough to make the pressure sending unit sense the oil. When it heats up the sending unit may not detect it as the oil thins out. The sending unit is what makes the gauge give an indicator its signal.

I would check the sending unit first, as your concern does not indicate a clattering engine or other problem. This model engine has a circuit that shorts the ignition to ground and kills the engine if the oil pressure ACTUALLY falls below a set minimum. Indicators of this problem are a loud clattering in the engine, as well an engine that will start and then stall for no reason.

Good luck!

Camaro wont turn over

First, clean your battery cables with a wire brush so you know you have a good connection from your battery. If that doesn't do it, it's most likely your starter or selenoid.
