There is a buzzing/humming/hissing/whateveryouwanttpcallit coming from any speakers or headphones that I plug into my tv.

So Whenever I plug headphones or speakers into my Sylvania TV there is a very annoying buzzing sound. I have been experimenting with many things to try and solve this problem and these are some details I have found: - I eliminated a humming that was going with the buzzing when I turned off the "Energy Saving Mode" in the settings, yet there is still and very loud buzzing noise left. - The buzzing seems to be loud on some channels, and is very low on others (and happens to be the loudest on the channel I am using, darnit) - The buzzing does not go away even when I mute the tv, yet it gets louder when I turn the volume up - I have turned off any wireless devices that may somehow be interfering - I have tried plugging tv into different sockets and have made sure every wire on tv is properly plugged in and no wires are bent etc. - I have concluded the buzzing is coming from the TV in some form, and not from the headphones, speakers etc. To add to this question, is there any headphones I can get that don't need to plug into the tv headphone jack? (Im sure the buzzing is coming from the tv through the headphone jack) I primarily want to solve this problem for my xbox 360 gaming, is there any headphones that plug into xbox 360 directly?

SOURCE: can't connect wireless stereo to sylvania 6620LF4

Hi, Ok, I now understand what the problem is. Sorry I missed the fact that it is due to no audio outputs on the TV. The audio board is designed to power low impedance speakers and doesn't have a big power amp to drive them. I do not have a schematic of that particular TV so I do not know how the headphone jack is wired. The way it basically works is, when you insert the plug, the tip pushes a contact away from another contact thus making one circuit and breaking another. You can test this externally by inserting an unwired plug or look at it from the inside and bridge the tip connection. I would only advise this if you have some technical skills. Other than that the thing is working like it was designed, they don't want you to use both. Sorry, I hate to give this type of news, but I am one of the only ones who will. Good Luck to you!

LG 55LS4500 55 in. TV has sound through speakers, no audio except a hum from headphones and the optical digital to analog output fiber lights up but no sound output What board is bad?

Hi Louis,
The audio circuitry is located in the main board. Try unplugging the TV for a while and try again if the audio comes back.
I would suggest to check all your settings in the audio section first and if everything seems OK then the main board should be replaced.

Buzzing sound coming from all speakers

Can't say for sure (not a lot to go off of) but whenever i hear a buzzing sound from my speakers, its because of a poor connection (broken/exposed/bent) of the audio cables (whether its the red/white, or headphone jack (computers)).

I recently connected my satellite reciever to my

Iassume you mean you hear the buzz independently of the audio program - simply connecting the cable causes the buzz?

If tanything in the mix is powered from different AC sources you may have a different ground potential. Sometimes manipulating the orientation of one or more ac plugs will solve hum problems.

Polaroid FLM-323B HDTV Loud Buzzing

Hi.

If your happy to remove the back casing of the the TV set.

Lay set face down on table with several towells laid out flat under it.
Undo all screws holding back on & lift it off you may need to remove tv stand to remove back.

Once back is off either locate speakers & unplug the leads from them remember to insulate the loose wires & tie them up out of the way.

Or trace wires from speakers to there plugs & sockets on main Pcb & unplug them & thats it.
Screw rear of set back on & ensure volume is set low or at zero.

No sound,volume bar works

Sorry I dont have a manual but it is available at http://www.servicemanuals.net If you put your ear close to the speaker, with the volume turned up, do you hear any hiss or buzzing? If you dont it could be a bad speaker, headphone jack(if there is one), or the audio output IC or ascoiatated componets. If there is a hiss, then theres a problem with the audio processor or switching IC. If your not a tech, you should not be experimenenting around inside this TV set!
