Wont charge connected to usb for 8 hours only qauter charge

If the charger is bad and you connect to a USB connection it is likely that the player is getting power to operate from the USB connection not from the charger.

The important thing is will the player charge up using the USB connection?

Having same issue, battery will not charge. Can't even use it unless its plugged into my computer the whole time. Followed the charging instructions, "turn power switch on and then use the usb cord provided to plug the device into the computer." I do so and it reads that it is charging, however the bar never goes to the green charge symbol. It said to not let it charge past 8 hours so I always unplug it before that. Even tried the recommended 3-5 hours and still I turn it on and it says right away battery low.

try charging it for 2-3 hours and then try if not working after that maybe the swich is not working
