I am currently attempting to do that myself. You need to separate the liner from the outside part. Using a pair of pliers, loosen the round nuts (found on the bottom) holding the unit together & separate. You'll find that the unit won't come completely apart because of the wiring. There is a heating band, held together by a spring, around the inner liner. Remove the spring to release the band. This should allow you to remove the inner liner & give you access to the wiring. At this point, you'll need to clip the appliance cord by the little wire nuts. The hardest part will be getting the cord out; there is a strain relief grommet that holds the cord in place and prevents it from being cut by the sheet metal where the cord goes through. I broke this strain relief on my crockpot and am currently looking for a replacement. Once I find a cord relief, I should be able to reconnect the wiring, the heating band and assemble the unit. Be careful not to cut yourself on the sheet metal!

I need a new electrical cord for my crock pot.

These should be available from any electrical shop. Very often even kettle cords will fit crockpots. Take the old cord with you when you shop.

Can I replace cord on Corningware cooker.

Yes you should be able to replace this cord.
Start by a/ Getting the size of cord required, is it 1.5 or 2.5mm conductor size. Check the manufacturers rating plate to see wattage/power rating of the cooker.
b/ Check the cord, is it heat resisting type??
c/ Cut a piece off and take it to local diy electrical shop to get correct rating and type.
d/ ALWAYS SWITCH OFF BEFORE CHECKING ANYTHING.

Won't turn on

Sounds like something's burned out. Unless you feel qualified to take it apart yourself and see if you can spot a problem like a blown fuse or a separated wire...I'd say it's time to replace it.

Rice cooker retractable cord burned.

If the mechanical part is still good then any handy person can replace the cord with any purchased cord but to do so safely it would be best to have someone with electrical training to do so

Model 3755 5.5 qt. Crock Pot base unit burned out

for what they get at a repair versus a replacement you better start looking, it will cost you more just to get an estimate than a new unit will cost

Good and bad complaints.

Generally, they are all supposed to be good. It all depends on how we use them. You have undoubtedly been careful with your crock pot to have had it serve you for 30 years! Unfortunately, not all consumers are as careful as you.

Yes, there are instance when a particular line or batch may be faulty due to some manufacturing defects, but these show up immediately, and can always be replaced under warranty.

Don't go by complaints, etc you see on the net. These are the exceptions rather than the rule. That is the nature of ALL electronic/electrical goods - they are bound to fail at some time or the other. (That why we have sites like Fixya!) :) The complaints that you see are exactly that - complaints from a few people who either happened to get a defective product, or haven't used it carefully. The majority, however, are happy with their products :)

Hope that helped!
