  1. Tension
    • Your sewing machine tension controls the rate at which the thread is fed through either the upper section of your machine or through the bobbin case. If your upper or bobbin threads aren't threading properly, sometimes adjusting the tension will correct this problem.
    Timing
    • Your sewing machine works by passing the upper thread through the needle of the sewing machine at precisely the same time the bobbin brings its thread to its uppermost position. If either the needle or the bobbin thread reach these positions too soon or too late, the threads won't interact and create the knots that make the seam. You can throw off your timing by sewing too many layers of fabric or hitting a pin with your needle. See you sewing machine repair facility to correct any timing issues.
    Thread
    • Thread can get snagged or caught in the upper section of your machine or on lint pieces in the lower bobbin section. If your threads aren't catching properly, you may be able to fix it by unthreading and rethreading both your upper thread and bobbin threads.

Have you tried to change the needle? if the needle is not perfect, the bobbin won't catch the upper thread correctly. There is only about 0.1 mm of space to do that, so even a needle that looks perfect coud be very slightly bent and give problems while stitching. First of all , in your place I would try to substitute the needle.
Then, are you using one of the original plastic bobbins? I once bought sone cheap "universal" bobbins that were only vey slightly smaller than brother ones (VERY very slightly smaller),..Well, the machine went crazy and I had a lot of problems with sipped stitches until I read on the internet NOT to use "universal" bobbins, as bobbins look the same but are not made exactly the same way and they must be EXACTLY those made for your machine...I bought some bobbins that were made especially for this sewing machine, and it never skipped a stitch again! (It's possible that other sewing machines work wel with universal bobbins, but not this one, at least not with the universal bobbins I had bought!)

I have a brother LS-2125 and the thread from the bobbin is not catching and is not being pulled through.PLEASE HELP! i need it for an assignment! :)

Here are some things that may fix the problem:
1. First, replace the needle
2. Next, remove the thread and completely rethread the machine
3. Remove the bobbin, clean any lint or thread from around the bobbin, and replace it.
Try sewing again on scrap fabric.
I hope this helps.

make sure that it is threaded right, and that you do not have your needle inserted backwards, flat side should face rear of machine, read your manual carefully. If you do not have one, go to www.brother-usa.com and you download one for free.

You need to either adjust the tension or ensure that you have routed the bobbin thread properly.

My machine is a Brother XL5600; I think I am having a shuttle hook problem. When I lower the sewing needle to "catch" the bobbin thread and pull through- it won't catch and pull through. I have changed out...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The upper thread could be tangled. Remove the thread completely from the machine. The correct size spool cap should be used for the size of the thread spool. Re-thread the machine according to the directions in the manual.

Place a spool of thread on a spool pin and check the upper threading.
Remove the bobbin and make sure the bobbin is threaded properly in the shuttle race. Remove any loose threads or lint in the shuttle race.

Also please check that the bobbin is installed in its case rightly. Needle thread is too tight. Hold the thread lightly to keep the end from going down into the shuttle.

The needle could be thread incorrectly. Thread the needle eye from the front to the back.
The needle could be bent or improperly inserted and install a new needle with the flat side of the needle facing the back.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Lower thread keeps jamming even though bobbin case is clean and tension on thread has been adjusted.

Hello,
Here are some things to try.

* Re-thread your machine

* Change your bobbin
There could be a nick along the edge of your bobbin spool that’s catching your thread as you
sew.

Also, before you start to sew a seam, grasp the upper and bobbin thread tails. Hold them back
and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting
caught in your machine.
I hope one of these solutions help.

Bobbin holder keeps catchin thread

Try re-threading, make sure the presser lifer is up so the tension discs are open and the thread will go into them. It sounds like you may have missed either the upper tension discs or the take up lever.

A drop of oil on the hook wouldn't hurt if you haven't oiled in awhile.

good luck!

I cannot get the needle to catch the bobbin thread

sounds like your keeping the upper thread too tight when you drop your needle down to catch the bobbin or the bobbin thread that you left hang out is too short, let me know if it works amy
