Try booting into the BIOS Screen and resetting to factory defaults. If that fails suggest swapping the hard drive out and re-install the Operating System - Save your old data and migrate the data off the old drive. You can buy an external drive adapter to connect the harddrive to a USB port to migrate you data.

sounds like the backlight has gone....test with an external monitor....if the external monitor works without any problems...the backlight has gone...better to get a professional to do this as its kind of fiddly and involves taking the screen apart
Put another monitor and go to the display settings settings advanced and there u can configure display settings if it wont work so just change the monitor
