The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
What's the question? Are you asking about a lens or a driver?
You don't need a driver in order to use your camera. http://www.canon-europe.com/Support/Consumer_Products/products/cameras/Digital_Compact/Powershot_S_series/PowerShot_S5_IS.aspx?type=download&page=1 I took a look on the site and I sow that only a software for to manage them is available ..and it seam that this is an updater and Im not sure it will work if you do not have the previous one ..but the good news is the lack of drivers...This means your camera is seen by the windows without a need for a driver ..so it has the driver built in windows..and even without this software you will be able to see the pictures into My computer folder under the removable drive ..(it will see the card in the camera or ..the camera itself by name ..Also you can use the windows autoplay wizard to download auto ..or just get in that folder and copy/paste the photos.
you have to use the data cable (which one come with your camera) to store pictures to your XP/Vista PC. Just connect the cable into your camera and PC, your PC detected your camera automatically as an drive, then you can transfer pictures.
Please don't take this as a sales pitch as it's not, but please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos AND videos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2009/01/how-do-i-download-photos-or-pictures.html

Vista requires updated drivers for most of the older cameras. Unfortunately, Canon chose not to update the drivers for many of these cameras, including the A80. Look on page 18 of the BASIC user guide for instructions on how to use the Self Timer. You will find a link to download the guide about midway down the following page:
I'm having the same problem. I don't have the disks with the camcorder and Vista is not recognizing nor seeing the camcorder. I'm going to try to download Zoombrowser and see if that makes it work.
