My backspace key came off, and I cannot put it back in. Please help.

Try function and scroll lock at the same time the try to enter the password, if this does not reset your keyboard, remove the power and the battery for 3 minutes then turn it back on and try again.

usually it is 2 up from the enter key
sometimes simply labeled BACK

If it moves a little but not enough the tab tensioiner on the R. side is broken not a bad job but yuo must know how.

Try Alt+Right Arrow to go back to former page and put cursor where you were typing , left click ( mouse )
and now you can use backspace button , you must click all the time the left buttom before using the backspace if not you will have this problem again.

When you get to the center point press but don't hold the MAR REL key, backspace to desired location, press L. mar key.

The Backspace key usually clips on . But since it keeps happening , the clip part must be broken. Since it is only 3 mths old, it is still under warranty, you can take it to a local Dell authorized shop or call Dell support, they will probably send someone out to fix it / or send you the whole keyboard which is easy to replace.

There isn't a 'delete' button like you'd find on the extended keyboard, if you hold function while pressing backspace it will function as a delete key. (My MacBook's backspace is labeled 'delete' but is a standard backspace.)

Answer: Function + Backspace = Delete

that happens when the spring/switch of the specific key go bad, normally in such cases the entire keypad have to be changed but if you are lucky then it is possible that only one key will be changed.... so without wasting time get it repaired from some professional
