Hello
Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits
The switched output voltage from the power supply is mor than normal. The normal secondary main supply voltage to this set must be around 135VDC. It is now been exceeded that limit, and the overvoltagg; current protection circuits in the set detects this situation and gives you tow blinks as its indication.
Normally, this fault is common to most of the Sony Trinitron sets. The main cuse for this fault is loose solderings at the SMPS power switching section. Just resolder most of the supected solder terminals by applying a little more solder, without making any solder bridge short in between the adjecent solder points. If needy, replace the secondary voltage filter capacitor [the electrolytic capacitor fitted across the 135VDC to ground. This must help you. OK.

Check the horizontal output transistor also. It is best to replace it with same type and number before switch ON the set again. If this transistor develop collector to emitter short, it will apply a dhort condition to the secondary power supply voltage (135VDC). Jut replace it too. OK.

Hi. I have a Sony KV-24LS35U. The problem is when we use the remote to switch it on the light changes from red to green and you hear a click like a relay operating then it goes back to red. It is gradually getting worse, It takes about 40 operations for it to stay in.

Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 (flyback transformer), or the associative components in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board.

My sony trinitron KV-32hs500 blinks sometimes 5 sometimes 6 and sometimes 7 times....is their anyway to fix this

Hello Fixya Customer,

Thank you for your question.

Based on your symptoms, there could be several possibilities. The power supply, deflection, and high voltage circuit.

A common fault is in the High Voltage power supply circuit, and it can be corrected by repairing or replacing the main board.

Thank you for using Fixya, and if you should have any additional questions, please ask.

My Sony Trinitron won't turn on...has 4 blinks in Standby.

Hello,
There are 3 reasons for 4 blinls
1.unit went to stand by mode because of h-pulse
2.Vertical defflection pulse stopped
3. power line is shhorted or power supply is stoped.

Solution:
1. check 13vdc on A board of powersupply stage
2. Check IC561 on A-board.

Good Luck

Sony Vega Service Codes

The 7 blinks indicate an over voltage condition. The high voltage section has exceeded 33,000V. This is generally caused by a bad regulator. I don't have a listing for your model, but there should be a multi-pinned IC attachd to a heatsink marked STRxxx located close to where the AC cord comes into the set. Post the actual marking here and I'll get you the part number and cost. That is the regulator that may be the problem.
