Amana air conditioning unit
You either have a blower that is gone out,or the start capacitor is bad,it is most likely the blower motor.
Room a/c works great for hours and then compressor just stops
the unit may be knocking off on defrost if the coil is getting v cold,
check for full airflow over the indoor unit/evaporator coil, check filters fan operation and coil condition. Likewise it may be overheating so check the same on the outdoor unit/condenser clean coil and fan operation.
Unlikely but the unit may be under performing and slightly short on refrigerant, not providing enough suction cooling to the compressor motor so the internal over temp klixon would cut it off for short periods, to cool the motor.

It is either low on freon,or,the unit needs to be removed,and cleaned,especially the coils,the condenser coils,and the evaporator coils,be careful not to bend fins on coils,use a water hose,and clean the inside of the unit out,clean off coils real good,see if this is the problem,it always helps.If this was helpful,please rate,and thank you,
Compressor shut down very quick then it turn on
MY HAVE A LOOSE SPADE CONNECTION AT MAIN THERMOSTAT RELAY. MOST OF THESE UNITS DONT HAVE HIGH OR LOW FREON PRESURE SWITCHES BUT YOU NEVER KNOW ON NEW UNITS CARRIER MAY HAVE THEM WHICH MY MEAN LOW FREON OR CLOGGED CONDENSER COIL THE OUTSIDE COIL LAYERS IN DIRT,BUT THATS NOT A QUICK ON OFF .BURNT WIRES ON COMPRESSOR OR BLOWN RUN CAPACAROR CAN CAUSE QUICK ON OFF. WE HAVE INSTALLED A START CAPACATOR WHEN COMPRESSOR DOES NOT START AT ALL. CHECK FOR LOOSE WIRES ON TERMINALS THEY MUST BE PULLED TO CHECK THEM,THEY CAN SEEM CONNECTED BUT THEY ARE LOOSE. OTHER CAUSES MAY BE THE PROBE IN FRONT OF EVAP COIL WHICH IS TSTAT BULB. STICK IT IN HOT WATER AND IT SHOULD KEEP STAT CALLING FOR COOL.
Compressor will cut on run a few minutes and shut off hot air
The compressor is probably going out on overload. There may be a small refrigerant leak thus making the compressor run hotter than usual. If there is not enough refrigerant in the system, the compressor will not get the refrigerant back to it to keep it cool. This is a safety feature built into the compressor to keep it from overheating and locking up. You may want to take it to your local appliance store and have it looked at. Most of the time it usually is cheaper to buy a new unit than to pay for just the labor to have them fixed.
AC will not work after being cleaned
You are going to have to let it dry very well. That's about all you can do at this point, as something electrical has gotten wet, and its tripping the unit to keep from burning out a part. Its just a matter of wait. wait, and so on. It will start again.

My Samsung presented the EXACT same problems
Buy a new unit the costs asscioated with repairs to a window unit under 1 1/2 tons isn't worth the fix unless it is a fan motor or somthing small to that effect.

Unit runs on all speeds but does not blow cool air.
I would check the control circuit first to see that you don't have a sefety tripped such as a freeze stat or high/low presssure switch. You can find the board at the following site. part is called assy pcb main. let me know if you need anything else.

GREEN LIGHT ON CORD COMES ON BUT THE AC UNIT WONT
you need to verify that power is getting to the control panel, the green light does'nt mean that there is power to the unit, also verify power to the controll swithes/board and verify that the thermostat is closing and trying to turn the unit on
I punctured a condenser pipe
I would recommend buying some JB weld or JB underwater weld for $5 It comes in a tube, place it over the whole and let it dry for a day.
If you have no freon left in the system, it may need to junked. Unless you feel like taking it to a repair clinic and having it charged.
