Ice forming on top front part of unit

yes cycles should be longer either that or the unit is keeping close to desired humidity. Also the unit is under sized 30 pint is for 400sqft. or 20 by 20 room. humidity should be 30/50 percent check your level desired room temp is 70 degrees but its a basemnt 60 works.
Golstar dehumidifer
Either you are under sized. or it is over heating. 50 pint should be used in 1000sqft area. it maybe over heating or the vents maybe plugged one of these is your problem.

Your sealed sysyem has a leak and the unit is low on freon causing the compressor to overheat. Check your owners manual many Goldstars have a five year warranty on the sealed system. If so you need an LG dealer to exchange it for you. They will submit the work order and LG will issue a CO number for you and contact you.
I just get a dehumidifier it was on all night and
% is the % humidity you want.
This is a DEhumidifier for to take water out of air for moist areas.
Usually a setting of 50% or 60% is dry enough. If it is freezing outside, inside of home is probably alreadt below 50%.
If you place in basement below 60 degree, will freeze up. Place over floor drain or in tub and leave off overnight.
Unit runs and you can hear the compressor come on
if it seems to be running normally except no cooling , is the fan in the house running????...Is the house Cold and damp???.If there is no cooling and you know that the compressor and everything else appears to be normal then you likely have a Refrigerant leak and that will cause no cooling.....Usually a very expensive repair...if your unit is 5-10+ yrs old you likely need a new "A" coil.
