I have a saitek proflight

Hi,

To recalibrate, first unplug the yoke.

Go to start/run and type regedit.

The registry editor will have a list of folders on the left hand side. Go down into the following folders in order.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (CURRENT_USER if on VISTA)
System -> CurrentControlSet -> Control -> Media Properties -> Private Properties -> Direct Input

Inside the Direct Input folder, delete any folder that begins VID_06A3.

Once done, close the editor. Plug the yoke back in and move all the axes (including throttle) through their full range of movement 4 times.

Now go to control panel/game controllers/properties to see if everything is ok on the test screen.

If the problem persists then test the device on another PC. If the problem still occurs then it is most likely a hardware fault.

Please tell me if this has been of any help. Thanks for using Fixya.

I had a friend with exactly same issues, only he used a CH Flight Yoke system.

Calibration can be very tricky sometimes, and it has very often to do with how the configuration file has been set up.

You might have to rebuild your configuration file for your Flight Simulator before it will work properly.

However here is some hints for calibration fix from Saiteks UK support.

Maybe this can solve your problem, understanding how to make a valid configuration file for Flight Simulator.

Good luck

I lost the installation disc

Hi,

You can download the installation drivers and software from the manufacturer's support website by clicking this link.

On the page which opens, select "Pro Flight" from the drop-down menu for "Choose your product range".

Similarly select "Pro Flight Yoke" from the options under "Select product" menu. Then choose the operating system of your computer (Windows XP/ Vista) from the options.

Then download the required drivers and software.

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.

All views move to different positions when

Hello
In the control options of fsx you need to delete the default keybind for the view you want assigend to your joystick. Then replace it with your controler axis.Or you can use the software and do your own program for fsx.The views in fsx have always been an issue or a problem with the game.

Also panning down in fsx and reverting back up has always been an issue or a clitch in the simulator.it does however work in fs version 9.

Using Fsuipc with a weather program or a virtual airline should not make a difference in control settings.

In FSX (Win7 64bit) couldn't get enough speed

Hi Alf,
This sounds like a deadzone setting not allowing the throttle axis to go full.
There are 2 places in which the deadzones can be set:
In FSX: Settings> Controls> Calibration, there select your Yoke and then set the NULL to the left, which is 0.
Or in windows in Input Devices (Win Xp - is in Control Panel, Vista or Win7 go to Games Explorer>Tools>Input Devices).
In Input Devices->Select the Yoke and click Properties, then go to the Deadzones Tab and set the deadzones for the Throttle. Mixture and Prop to 0.
Hope it helps...

I have a Saitek Pro

Try to get the latest drivers from www.saitek.com

Try it on another computer and if it does the same there too you might want to consider that it can be faulty...and you might want to request a replacement for it.

Hope it helps..

I have a simple problem

For how low have you had the Yoke?

This a known fault with the front display on the Yoke failing, it's caused by the LED's being faulty or a inperfect contact there.

If the Yoke functions correctly then it might be one of the above.

If you still have warranty, meaning if you purchased the Yoke less then 2 years ago, try to ask for a replacement for it either from the retailer of from Saitek.

hope it helps...

My Saltek flight yoke is not functioning anymore.

The Yoke is supplied with all the clamps and screws that are required to fix your controller to your desk unit. The installation manual will help you with this.

The throttle quadrant that is supplied with the Yoke has a round PS/2 connector. This plugs into the PS/2 port on the side of your Yoke (not the PC). Your PC and FSX will not recognize the Yoke and the Quadrant as separate controllers. They are seen by your system as one device, hence the quadrant will not work on its own with a PS/2 to USB adapter.

Check the PS/2 pins are OK and then connect the quadrant to the yoke and connect the USB to the PC to power both units. You can then run the driver and software installation,

Before you even start up your flight simulator, you should acquaint yourself with some of the controls and features of the Yoke. Go to Control Panel > Game Controllers and select the Properties for your Saitek Yoke (I'm sorry, but cd installer is designed for windows). Here, you can test your buttons and axes to check that they are working correctly.

The Yoke has 5 axes, 2 on the control yoke itself and 3 lever axes. The Yoke has a POV switch and 8 programmable buttons. There is also a Mode Wheel on the back of the right handle that enables you to change the mode of your pre-programmed button profile. To the uninitiated, the modes apply to the Programming Software (SST) that comes with the controller. The software allows you to assign the keyboard commands from your simulator to the buttons on the Yoke. You can save these assignments as a profile, which can be tweaked as your flight experience increases. One Mode equals one configured set of buttons. So, with the SST, you can have a minimum of 3 different button configurations set to your controller at one time. You can even set more modes in the programming software itself. Instructions on this, and how to use the other features of the programming software, can be found here. The FSX profile for the Yoke can be downloaded from here.
With the drivers installed, the LCD screen will also display your PC time and a timer function. The throttle quadrant has 6 T buttons and 3 reverser buttons. They enable you to set functions such as reverse thrust (discussed below) to your quadrant. If you move your levers into the red detent section you will feel a click. These are the reverser buttons and these can be assigned like normal buttons to your Flight Sim, or programmed in our SST Profile Editor.
There are additional USB ports on your Yoke. Currently, we provide additional Throttle Quadrants, Rudder Pedals and the Switch Panel as additional add-on to the system. All these can be powered using the USB ports on the side of the Yoke. Future additions may require a bit more juice, which is why the Yoke has a port for a power adapter, so that it can be uses as a powered USB hub

It's because your laptop USB port cannot supply sufficient power for both. Try buying a powered USB hub. it should do the trick. cheers.

My problem is that my

You have a "mechanical" problem with the yoke, as it transmits electronic signals to respond to the movement.

Installing newer device-drivers cannot address any "physical" problem with the electro-mechanical parts of the hardware.

Some mechanical part has slipped from its proper position.
Disassemble it, carefully, and see if you can adjust it back to its proper position.

How to Set Up a Saitek Proflight Yoke System Instructions
    Mounting the Yoke
Mounting the Yoke
  1. Determine where you will set it up. You need a desk or table with a wide, flat surface. Clear away objects on the desk that might be in the way or that could be accidentally knocked off. The yoke must be mounted on top of the table and takes up a good deal of space, but the throttle may be mounted in front of or even under under the table if you prefer.

  2. Remove both units from the box carefully. The system is lightweight, but care should be taken not to drop it. Note that there are also some loose parts in the box including the large clamp which attaches the yoke and a smaller clamp for the throttle unit. Note that there are some instructions and diagrams on the back of the box that may be of use.

  3. Place the yoke on the surface and position it where you want it.

  4. Pick up the yoke clamp assembly and make sure that the threaded plastic bolt is inserted, but not screwed in. The clamp fits underneath the table with the two upper prongs sliding into the corresponding holes on the front of the unit.

  5. Adjust the yoke and clamp as needed to insure it is in the exact position you want. Then tighten the plastic bolt. Test the yoke to make sure it is stable and does not move on the table when you manipulate the controls.

  6. Pick up the throttle unit and its clamp assembly. Unlike with the yoke, the clamp assembly must be screwed into the back of the throttle unit using small screws. Note that it may be attached in two different directions depending upon how you wish to mount the throttle to your table (either above or in front of it). Decide now which way will work best for you. See the images on the box for reference.

  7. Position the throttle clamp around the table surface and tighten the plastic bolt, just as you did for the yoke.

  8. Connecting it to Your Computer
  9. Look at the back of the yoke. There is a single USB cable which is permanently attached to the yoke. Plug this cable directly into a USB port on your PC. The ports on the rear of a computer usually work better for this purpose than those on the front.

  10. Look at the back of the throttle unit. There should be a single cord coming out the back of it. Note that it is not a USB cable. Instead it has a round connector, like those used on non-USB keyboards and mice. Plug this cable into the round port on the back of the yoke.

  11. Turn your computer on. It should recognize the yoke as a new plug and play device. Note that the computer will see the yoke and throttle as a single device rather than as two separate ones. The included software is not required. The yoke should work as soon as it is plugged in.

  12. Go to website http://saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php to download and install the latest drivers.

  13. Assign buttons and commands directly through your favorite flight simulator.

  14. Additional peripherals such as rudder pedals or another throttle unit may be added using the USB port on the back of the yoke.

jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); });
