Three new batteries did the same thing, ran down too fast after reaching 50%

What are you doing on the laptops? I mean are you browsing the internet or gaming? Can depend on how you're using the laptop. Also do you know if the power plan is set to balanced or high performance?

Toshiba satellite p205d screen cuts off while in

This may be a handful of reasons... check these posts for laptop repair manuals and diagnostics procedures and see if any of them fits your laptop's symptoms... or you may just be looking at a loose wire that should go away once you re-connect the plugs coming from the LCD onto the motherboard.
If you're lucky it may just be a software issue that should be solved if you update your graphic card drivers.

If this was helpfil and informative please vote for this post by adding a Thumb Up. Thank you.

System restore disc 1 erased

This sort of error is far too common. There is no checking of the recording being done by the programme that prepares the disks.
What can I suggest? Purchase a new OS that is all you can do unless you have a friend with OS disks as you have the registered key on your Laptop and you do own the OS.
Hope this helps.

System restore disc 1 erased & overwrote hard

Your computer is using the network-connection to try to connect a "network boot server", to try to load a bootable image across the network.

The 'MEDIA TEST FAILURE, CHECK CABLE' is the error-message when no "network boot server" responds to a "network boot request".

The 'EXITING PXE ROM' message is the exit from the P(re) (e)X(ecution) E(nvironment) part of the R(ead) O(nly) M(emory) inside your computer, since the "network boot" did not proceed.

So, insert "Restore Disk #1" and restart your computer, and FORCE it to "boot" from the CD-ROM device -- not from the disk-drive. When prompted, insert "Restore Disk #2" to continue the reinstallation of Windows. When prompted, remove the disk from the CD-ROM device, and restart your computer.

Note that it's also possible that your disk-drive is "dying" -- any attempts to install Windows on it have FAILED. Thus, any time to "boot" from those "not-written" files will cause problems.

Bios Faile

bios is always risky update, and toshiba is very well known to stuff up they bios...

first advice, never, ever, update bios from inside of your operating system...

as your computer is already dead, try this method, i cannot recall if you have phoenix or amibios but should work on both:

1. remove power and battery from dead laptop
2. download again bios and unfold it, remember the folder, do not run it!
3. go to this folder and find file with suffix *.rom, rename it to amiboot.rom
4. copy amiboot.rom to usb drive
5. plug usb drive into usb port
6. press and hold fn+b, plug in power cord and press power button
7. if after few seconds you see screen flashing and toshiba logo then returns, you just saved your laptop and few dollars...
8. allow it to boot, switch off, re-insert the battery and use as before.

if this do not work, i am afraid tha tyou need to find some toshiba centre which will flash and re-program bios for your. do not get conned into replacing motherboard! there are non-toshiba repairers which charge between $30 and $100 to flash "dead" bios, toshiba for replacement motherboard want over $300.00

if you find my advice helpful, plese do not hesitate to leave comment and vote 4 fo rme, thanx!

Bad image error message

Upon startup, one of the F keys, usually F4 through F8, will bring up a system repair screen, with a lot of options. Pick "Restore and Backup". Then Restore your computer to an earlier date. This will keep all your files and programs, and restore your registry and drivers to an earlier date when they worked. You probably got a virus, and this will get rid of it. Good luck, and hope this helps.

Is the product key for Microsoft office 2013 the same as all product keys for 2013 Microsoft offices that operate under laptops using windows 8.1?

The product key is associated with the MS Office 2013 software, not the specific MS Windows version of Operating System - unless the MS Office lists a minimum version of OS ie: "Windows 8.0" In this case, it would not install on Windows 7. Otherwise, you should be able to install it on Windows 7, Windows 8, or later.

Japanese Visa Application with COE denied. Why?

How to Get Employment Security With Correct Japan Work Visa Japan is no different from other developing nations whereby grass seems greener on its side of the pasture. It attracts its fair share of foreign businesses as well as nationals seeking to work within its lands. Albeit many adhere to immigration procedures, some choose to test their limits on the basis of ignorance or defiance. By understanding the different types of work visa in Japan, it assures its foreign workers a continual stream of income with no threat of arrest and deportation. Visa simply infers the status of residence. Citizens obviously have no need of it as they automatically satisfy qualifications to freely reside in their country of birth. As for those of alien status who wish to join the local workforce, there should be a category to match one's requirement. Since most countries strive to improve the overall quality of life, professionals are generally welcomed to contribute knowledge and skill. Unskilled labor is normally not granted a visa to avoid flooding and dilution of the workforce. The visa is awarded in accordance to one's area of expertise. Supported with proof of relevant experience, it is based on the field of involvement whilst working in the country. In the event one's work scope changes from one expertise to another, it is essential to apply for a visa under the new circumstances. Different types of work visa in Japan also apply to foreign companies seeking to conduct local business. Domestic companies based abroad wishing to set up a local point of presence need to provide supporting documents to justify internal transfer of foreign workers. Governmental staff for diplomatic duties is assigned a category for legal residence. Over and above the general groupings, designated activities also garner approval from the authorities. Domestic service for non-native residents and citizens of certain nations on working holidays fall into this category of working visa. This, by no means, is the end of the list as it is best to consult the authorities on which visa serves best.Click Here For More Details: http://japanjobandvisaservice.com/blog/change-your-luck-when-apply-work-visa
