Try connecting the external device to another computer, to see if can be detected on that computer. If not, then the device itself has a problem.
Otherwise, try connecting your device to a different USB port on your computer.
Also, try some other USB device (camera, memory-stick) in each of your computer's USB ports, to confirm that the USB ports themselves are working.
A drive no longer works
Hello,
I recommend upgrading yourself to newer more powerful storage technology like the flash drive, CD, DVD or blue ray. It is less stressfull, more storage capacity.

Burn music saved on floppy disc
You can use Nero, PowerDVD for windows or RealPlayer (download for free on internet). You will however ensure that you buy a DVD/RW one that can burn DVD and CD as well as Read from them. Usually available as a slim portable HP model that is plug and play with two combos. Or you can buy bigger ones that have separate power cords

This is very, very common. The original drive that the floppy disks, or this current drive if it has been handled roughly, was / is out of alignment.
Try using the original floppy drive that made the majority of the disks, if it is still available. Otherwise, you might try the floppy drive on an older computer. Floppy drives lose alignment over the years, and the user doesn't see it until goes to read a disk that was created a while before.
If the problem is that the disks created by the current drive are wanting to be formatted by the same drive, then the drive is damaged. Replacement of the drive is best solution.
For What Its Worth, I went through 3 MadDog floppy drives as found at Walmart. First 2 were oh so fragile. Third was bullet proof until I dropped my laptop, drive, external hard drive, and bag out the window of a 2 story building. I was frustrated with the operating system....

Windows xp to vista external HD transfer problem?
It is exactly right... YOU are not 'in control' of the hard drive and your buddy's computer doesnt have the 'permissions' to work with YOUR files...
It MAY be possible to get the okay if he logs into his computer as the administrator.... it is NOT an actual 'hardware' issue... being able to see the files says that... XP and vista are 'close enuf' design-wise that drive compatability isnt it either...
If your friend can log in as 'administrator' he will likely be able to take 'ownership' of the files on your 'external' drive and get what you need!
Need it to work with Windows Vista OS.
Your Dynex floppy should be pnp both on Vista and on XP. This means that it shouldn't need any additional driver. You just need to plug it into any available usb port, wait maximum a couple of minutes, and it should work automatically. Once installed it will be managed by your computer as any internal floppy unit. In any case, if you need to download the drivers you can find them here:

Need it to work with Windows Vista OS.
This worked with Vista. Plug and Play. Just look in My computer and it will show an A drive. Put in a disk and click on the A drive to look at the contents. Worked great. You dont' need a driver for Vista. Compatible with Vista as a plug and play component. Hope this helps.
I need help
Hi,
Two possible reasons:
1. the disk formatting system of the word processor is not compatible with your current computer's operating system;
2. the disc has been damaged and therefore unreadable.
The solution for possibility #1 is to re-save your "book" as pure text and try again;
The solution for the 2nd would be two fold. You need to get hold of a file recovery software and try to recover the contents of the diskette. Once done then you can format if so needed.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
Dynex 1.3mp driver update for windows 7
Unfortunately, Dynex no longer provides driver updates for their 1.3MP webcam on Windows 7 as the product has reached its end of life and is no longer supported. However, you may still be able to use the webcam with the existing drivers that came with it or with the generic drivers that are built into Windows 7.
To check if your webcam is recognized by Windows 7, follow these steps:
- Plug in your Dynex 1.3MP webcam to your computer's USB port.
- Click on the "Start" menu and select "Control Panel".
- Click on "Hardware and Sound" and then select "Device Manager".
- Look for the Dynex webcam under the "Imaging devices" or "Cameras" category. If it is listed, then your webcam is recognized by Windows 7.
If your webcam is not recognized by Windows 7 or is not functioning properly, you may want to try downloading and installing a third-party driver update software like Driver Booster or Driver Easy. These programs scan your computer for outdated or missing drivers and automatically download and install the latest versions for you.
Alternatively, you can try searching for a compatible driver on third-party driver download sites, but be cautious as some of these sites may contain malicious software. It is always recommended to download drivers from the manufacturer's website or from trusted sources.
